The Airport gig

Guess who is going to spend 10 hours at Helsinki-Vantaa airport tomorrow? Without going anywere? Yep, that's me.

Some, hmm, wisegirl, got the idea that she'll hang around at the airport and write a feature about it. So tomorrow's the day.

It's going to kill my back, test my imagination and my legs will hurt in the evening, but I don't care. I'm excited! I love to watch airplanes... Naturally I'd prefer to actually go somewhere but that's not an option right now. This is the next best thing.

Wish me luck! Smiley
And PF day... I kinda hope that there won't be an airport security tape showing me hitting my head against some wall... But we'll see how it goes. Smiley

Best wishes & PFdays,
Sandie

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Go through Pittsburgh Jonny. It's so much fun taking in all the exciting concourse shops there.   Roll Eyes  Nothing like pawing around in different sox shops.  Shocked

Hope you have a good day Sandie. Try to find a place to park it so you can stay off those tired tootsies.

Hanging around an airport, checking out the places, things and people. Writing it all in a notebook?

Don't try that in an American airport. You'll get arrested as a terrorist and jailed for 3 to 100 years.

I don't look at airplanes in the airports anyway. Too many long-legged women walking around, so I get distracted. LOL

Wink

That was my point, actually. Is it possible to hang around at one airport for 10 hours without anyone noticing anything weird about it? The answer is, yes. At least at Helsinki-Vantaa airport today between 7.23 am and 5.23 pm it was.

Next time duct tape a traffic cone to your head, light a sparkler, hold it high, run down the corridor yelling "Hey fuckstick, gimme back my twinkee".  They'll probably notice you.   (or show your tits)  either way -- your call.

This is how today went:
I arrived the airport at 7.23am. It was a sunny morning! Perfect weather. I wrote down all the arrivals and departures. I became this unofficial guide, who told people which plane was which!

I took lots of pics! I was spoiled rotten: so any huge MD-11 planes were there! Two were on their way to America - Miami and New York - and the rest went/arrived to/from Asia, Osaka/Beijing/Shanghai/Bangkok. One day I'll go there!

I was amazed how many places I could go without a ticket. And no member of staff came to have a little talk with me. I did think twice that it could happen, though. But there were 4 planes which were delayed lots, they probably thought I was waiting for one of them either to take off or land.

Anyways, I had a great day. My back hurts like hell, but that's all. Now I'll just hope that my pics turned out fine... Smiley And I have to type 20 or so pages of notes... But that's okay. Grin

I hope you had a PF day, I almost had. Just one HA, that was kip 3 and lasted only for a short while. Piece of cake! Grin

Best wishes,
Sandie
