about 3 months and I am a free woman with my maiden name back!! WHOO-HOO!! I am so ready you guys. This has been a long dark road but I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I have finally realized that I have to do what is going to make ME happy not what is going to make anyone else happy. I am not changing who I am for anyone ever again. It's take it or leave it, if you take it you better treat me right, if you leave it, oh well, your loss not mine. I started counseling today. I think I have my head on straight for the first time in about 2 years. I am focused on my son and me and that is it. I deserve so much out of this life and damn it, I'm going to have it.

Cry when you want, Laugh when you want, be Mad when you want, be Glad when you want....just DON'T do the negative stuff in front of the kid and be careful what you say...Little pitchers have big ears. He is going through a lot, too. Counseling for the both of you is a good idea.
Remember to do nice things for yourself. It makes ya feel good!
And NEVER forget you have a lot of friends here, and they are always here to help. You have my number. Use it.

BOOYAH! That's the attitude to have. Onward and upward and don't look back.
DD is right about the negativity. Don't ever say anything bad about your ex where the kids can hear, even if your ex talks bad about you. Kids hear these things even when you think they aren't listening and form later opinions about both of their parents from them.
You know you can always come here when you need to vent or just need another adult to talk to.

Can't add anything to the advice DD gave except to add I'm here for you too.. you have alot of friends... remember that when you need to put a smile back on your face hon!
Oh and keep a copy of your marriage certificate.. when we all meet up we'll tie that to a firework and blast it into space.. very therapeutic!! LOL

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Kudo's to you. The first time my first wife saw the beast she said it was "too much for her to handle". Gee, I wonder what it was like for me  !!! Don't know if you are interested in another union, but I found an angel second time around who understood the term for better, worse, sickness, health. richer, poorer. 21 years this year and she just jokes with me about when she gets the better, richer and healthier, and is really glad I found you guys.
