Guess these creatures were pulled up from far depths of the ocean by the wave...amazing what creatures live way down there. (continued)

http://capmel.com/TsunamiFishPicturesHoax.htm Tsunami Fish Pictures a Hoax We apologize for the posting the pictures that were purported to be photos of fish washed ashore during last month's Indian Ocean tsunami. It turns out that, as with many cataclysmic events like this, there are always hoaxers who will take advantage of the keen interest the public has in these great tragedies. Here is the debunking information as seen on Snopes.com, the "Rumor Has it" web site "It seems like any unusual or remarkable photographs connected with oceanic phenomena are being attributed to the Indian Ocean tsunami of December 2000, and this collection of pictures is more of the same. Although they are genuine images of some rather strange deep-sea creatures, these photographs have nothing to do with the Indian Ocean tsunami. They date from mid-2003 and were taken as part of the NORFANZ voyage, a joint Australian-New Zealand research expedition conducted in May-June 2003 to explore deep sea habitats and biodiversity in the Tasman Sea. These photographs can be viewed on Australia's National Oceans Office web site." (http://www.oceans.gov.au/norfanz/)

Although the basis of the story...being washed up by the tsunami...is false. The meat of the story...the pictures...are real fish taken from the deepest depths of the ocean. Still very interesting stuff. Jimmy
