Wow!! Scary!! What was the problem? A bad o-ring? Regulator not cinched down correctly?

I had a bike wreck once, where I was flying through the air and literally had time to think, "Oh shit.... This is gonna' hurt. This is REALLY gonna hurt!"

(And I was right. It hurt like a mofo!)

And let me guess... nothing around to put it out with.  No water, no towel, nothing except for a screwdriver or a hammer.

You walk over to the acetalyne bottle and turn it off. Scared the shit outta me. I must have chain smoked four or five cigarettes after that.
Far far away from the gas, of course. Shocked

I remember the Parker boys deciding to store Acetylene gas in a surplus weather balloon about 30 years ago.
The results were interesting.

Yup a leak, smaller tank, no valve on top, takes a wrench. Think I cud find one quickly  laugh.
Old fire extingusher still worked, if it didnt was gonna run like hell. The acetelyne wasnt the problem, the 02 next to it scared the sh*t outta me. Freaking small tank, adapters, sucks.
