So sorry Renee

When i had to take my Ronja down"damn thats 2 year since now,and i still miss her deaply"someone here gave me that poem "rainbow bridge"

That poem have helped me a LOT since that and that person tryly did me a great favour.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thanks all for the kind words all.

Sylvan, thanks for the link to the feline cancer group.  I will be checking that out.

Leaving town for 4 days just after finding out about Ethyl's cancer was a nightmare emotionally.  She didn't eat any while I was gone, not even tuna, but she started eating again this morning, a little bit.  I have never been so glad to get back home.

We go back to the vet Monday or Tuesday and will re-xray.

At the age of 14, I had decided against amputating the back leg and radiation.  She has no other health issues and now I wonder if my selfishness for not wanting to lose her is why I am now pondering the amputation.  Huh   I just don't know.  Will see what the vet says tomorrow.  All bloodwork is good except a bit of anemia.

Will be spending my day with my Ethyl sleeping in my lap, soaking up the feeling and memories.

Biopsy results came back today, preliminary results that is, and NO signs of cancer.  This after the Vet telling us it was 99% chance of cancer.

Holding breath for 48 more hours until full biopsy results are in.

Prelim shows hyper-plastic inflammation of the joint.   Huh

Renee:

I am soooo happy to hear that there is no cancer!

As for the inflamation - there are quite a few supplements and meds that can be helpful in easing joint pain. If amputation does turn out to be necessary - please be assured that many many cats (and dogs) adapt to the loss of a limb and learn very quickly to get around as well as a four legger critter.

If you need any info on supplements or meds - let me know - i have tons of links to various vet info sources.

Anne (Sylvan)

PS - Hyperplasia is a general term for an abnormal increase in the amount of the cells of an organ or tissue, excluding tumor formation, causing it to increase in size. It may be due by any number of causes including (but not limited to) chronic inflammatory response. Ask your vet about a glucosamine supplement and/or a non-steroidal anti-inflamatory.
