Is President Bush High?

Go figure.  This.

Our elected president (so claims the news on television) has sent a woman -to represent the USA in the negotiations of our nation.    With this in mind, I have personal questions, and hope y'all can help me with my current mental problem.

If I have a minor problem with the gas or electric problem, the woman usually takes care of that.  If I have a problem with the car/truck/bike insurance, the woman usually handles that also.  Women are better with phone then I-a male.   I tend to voice my feelings kinda harsh, especially when I think Im being ripped off. Women seem to handle that much better than I.   I suppose its the female language that I, as a male, will never understand.   If I have a problem that requires my attention, I would never ask the woman to even enter the picture. Useless dissagrements are just a waste of time.    When I decide to let my hairs down, and kick ass,  I dont believe I ever asked for a females opinon.    So I must ask-----
Why in the world. would the president of the United States of Americia, send a woman to negioate a deal in the middle east?
It aint like she can give good phone.
She is going up in person------and representing the whole USA.   I think if I personally was representing the country, I would choose to do that in person.  What have we become here with our most valued votes?  If I have trouble with a neighbor (half a mile away) I dont let the woman talk for me----I visit in person.
I wonder if our president is sending the female for what he percieves as a minor problem, or if she is sent to quell a serious problem.   Is the USA sending a female to hush a minor problem with all the deaths we have had in the cause of Free Election????
Perhaps I heard the news incorrect, but I precieved it as were sending a woman to talk peace.   I mean no foul toward females----but that sending the wife tells me that hubby aint got the balls to talk man to man with the neighbor.
Womens words dont carry much weight out here in the sticks.  I cannot see how a females words will carry much weight  in them Middle East deserts.   Is the president of the USof A tryng to get in good with his females, or is he just brushing off the war in the desert?
No offence to the females, but the word of a woman dont mean squat over there in them desert countries.
And those folks are suppose to hear what she says?   I must seriously consider our presidents desision.
    Rebuttale welcome.

Unfortunatly on part of this I would have to agree, BUT this is not just a woman. My wife would never want nor would she ever be able to do that job. Not because she is a woman but because she is not confident in herself. Condi on the other hand is not only cofident in herself but she is well trained in this type of task laid out before her. I would not attemt to undertake the job mainly because I fell that I do not have the skills necessary for it. As far as her being a woman I dont think that should have to much bearing on it. If she is capable of doing the job and can get the Mid east leaders to talk I say more power to her. But if we at home kick her before trying then shame on us. If she cannot do the job then shame on her and Bush for putting her in that position. But we as Americans should at least see before we condem her.

Just thought you would like to here a good argument for her before you fire her .

Biker  - You do know its 2005?  Don't you?  You do know that Condi is one of the smartest women alive?  And, you do know that she is the Secretary of State...and that she was confirmed by our duly elected representatives in the Senate and House, and that she is more competent than many other people...

Just curious

If that isn't woman bashing, I never heard it!  I tease the ladies of this board, yet I think all know I love and respect every one of them, and I do it just to get a laugh.  What you have written, is far from just good natured teasing.

This PERSON you have degraded is a highly trained professional.  I am a male, and there is no way I would attempt to do what she is about to do.  She is trained, I am not.  This is a highly trained PERSON who just happens to be a female.   Get out of the dark ages and accept a person for their talents, and attributes.  Don't write someone off, just due to their sex, religion, color or even sexual persuation.  If this PERSON fails, then by all means tear this PERSON apart.  This PERSON'S sex has NOTHING to do whether this PERSON can do the job or not.

I hope you have some VERY strong armour, as I think you are under attack by some very outraged females!

Good luck, you are going to need it!

It seems somone is wanting to stir up a little trouble here...
Any issues I have with Condi have nothing to do with her being a woman...they're all about her being Condi.
Now, that said, Biker...WTF? Have you been in some kind of time warp? Wake up, dude...it's 2005...

Talk about a loaded topic...

First, yes that post could be considered to be highly inflammatory, defamatory and generally bad.  However, if I'm reading it correctly, the point to it is that the majority of the populace in the middle east do not consider women to be of any consequence, and in many cases consider them to be inferior and of less value than their livestock.  That is a simple fact.

On that level I can understand your thinking.  However, (again) I think you are truly underestimating the skills and intelligence of Condi.  As has been stated, she is an exemplary woman.  While the culture may not readily accept a female, they really have no choice.  For one, she carries with her the power of the USA, and that is not a power to be trifled with.  I highly doubt that Condi is a fickle or emotional female, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to mess with her and take a chance.  Additionally, women are born with an inherent ability to manipulate and negotiate without the other party even realizing they have been manipulated.  Not saying that is something she would do, but I'd be willing to bet that she is smart enough and good enough to manipulate the situation to a degree that they believe it's their ideas that she is agreeing to.

That's my 2 cents worth.

I did not mean this string as an attack on women.  Usually, women think things through (not all gals) and come up with a realistic compromise.   I find myself often bouncing ideas off women and welcome their feefback.
I just find it hard to understand why our collective government, would send a gal to talk to people who have little, or no- respect, for the female thoughts.
I have realized since I began school in the 1st grade that girls are "smarter ' than boys.   Females are more into "thought"  boys are more into "fun"   Males cause war (mostly over females) and girls have fun watching.  The females have had a great time going to the local watering holes and causing toubles between the males to watch a little fun.   Gals seem to enjoy watching males bash each other for the prize of the female, yet the female laughs while she gives herself to one who is not involved in the conflict which she started.
That is an ancient world wide practice.  And believe me, them folks in the desert know that--as well as the folks in indo-china,  New Zeland, and Canada- Its been happening since humans began co-habitating.  I suppose its part of the oldest profession---but thats not what I was asking.
Are we insulting the desert folk by sending a woman to talk for us?  Or, are we sending a woman cause the president aint got the balls to defend himself?
My personal feeling is the latter.    Send the woman.  No male on the planet has learned to out-speak a woman.  It aint that imortant that we lost near (untold) lives over there.  My humble thoughts tell me we should have minded our own business. and left them desert folks alone.
We have opened up a can of worms.   I did not recieve a paper to vote on our attack on that country.  I would have voted NO if I had the choice.  As our government worked- we invaded- were gettin whipped (Viet Nam rings a bell----Korea also----The USof A aint won a war since the Mexican war) and were sending a female representive??????
I  hope her words have the honosty that folks of our country seek.  If she lies (as white folk tend), then the word of the great USA will be no better that it was in the 1700"s with the American Indians.

If she can maintain her confidence in the face of the challenging adversity, being female where it is least respected as a representative of power, as Cat noted, I for one would never, ever, insinuate discounting the abilities and capabilities when it comes to mental and verbal aptitude of a woman.  I would not prejudge her outcome of this.  It seems men haven't reaped the best of results as representatives from similar past efforts.

On another note of fact, old and perhaps unnoticed:

The 1880's were rife with dissension, some bitter and violent such as in 1886, Chicago's Hay Market Riot among the worst.  Reformers, in an effort to remind Americans of the shared principles upon which this nation has been built, urged cooperation to effect vast and enduring changes.  To promote a message of unity, Francis Bellamy, wrote a salute to the flag that he hoped would be recited on Columbus Day at ceremonies throughout the country.  He called it the "Pledge of Allegiance", to a nation indivisible that promised its citizens, one and all, liberty and justice.  Bellamy, very ponderously but deliberately, omitted the word equality, well aware that his editors would never approve publication of the pledge if it hinted that women and other races were the equal of white men.  All very regretful.

Equal in all ways.
