We live in a townhouse, next to some wonderful neighbors. The nice thing is that we can't really hear what's going on with the neighbors. My son has been "dating" a.... b*tch... last night she once again broke it off, but told him she still wanted him... Needless to say, he was/is confused and stressed. So... he went into the basement and started punching the heck out of his kickboxing bag.... BOOM BOOM BOOM.... So there I am... at midnight... still up, still wide awake - who could sleep with that racket? Well... it seems that THEY could hear it.... Heather was home, her fiancee wasn't yet.... Scared the crap outta her... so she called the cops.... So... 12:05 am today the cops showed up at my door.... There'll be a LOT of apologizing to Heather and Chad from my son... for a long long time! See, if you stay up late enough something interesting will happen.... (so i'm going to bed early tonight!) Mike stayed up ALL night, talking online.... hopefully he'll stay awake during his psychology and sociology lectures today! Cops at midnight... whoda thunk?

Maybe it's the name "Lizzie" but I swear that me and you are magnets for chaos. And funny chaos, at that. May not seem funny at the time...but there's that tough part of your inner soul that finds a way to laugh after the scary part is all over. Many hugs to you and yes...get your arse to bed early tonight!!! the other Lizzie

That sounds close to what happened to my wife and I many years ago. We were living in Toms River, New Jersey. It is surrounded by sand and scrup pine and scrub oak. Sound travels FOREVER!!! We had a dog, that was part Saint Bernard, and who knows what else. He was a huge loveable mutt. He would let anyone in the house. The children (not ours, as this was "BC" [before children]) in the area and my neice and nephew could do ANYTHING to him, and he would just lay there and take it. One day, in the summer, we had all the windows open, my wife and I were playing around (no, not doing THAT, at least not yet!) and we were wrestling each other. My wife started to scream at the dog to come and help her, as I was beating her up. We were cracking up as the dog would lift his head, thump his tail, and then go back to sleep. No matter how hard, she screamed, cried and yelled, we could not get the dog to react, and come to her aid. Well after all the laughing, tickling and whatnot, she had to go pee. While she was in there, who shows up at the door? You got it! The local law enforcement!!! Evidently SEVERAL people reported that there was one hell of a fight going on in the house, and called it in! The police would not leave until she came out of the bathroom, and they talked to her, alone. How embarassing, and FUNNY!!! Chuck, the wife beater!!!

Well, we all need some action every now and then, don't we? But the next time the people who live at the sixth floor at my building will find out what it's like to have cops coming to meet them the next time they'll have a 3-day party with loud music which neighbours can hear clearly two floors down...
