Any CH'ers in the San Francisco Area?

I'll be travelling to San Francisco for business sometime next month and wanted to know if there were any CH'ers in the area.

Also, I've never been to California, so while in the SF area, any nice places to eat, visit, stay???  I'll be there about 3-4 days.

Something very boring...DESIGN CONTROL. It's a big part of my job and I'm going for advanced training.

So have some sweet vermouth waiting for me as I'll need it after that...and if I scream that i'm drowing, don't worry, but make sure to send one of the lifeguards my way... Grin

Go to Fishermans Warf, a fun place to visit.
Have some great clam chowder and sourdough bread.
I grew up 100 miles south of the City, in the Monterey Bay area.
Have a great time, other than the boring convention thingy.
Wish I could join you.

Langa,

I live in the city.  additionally, Shawn (Fubar), Virginia (9nerFan) and Bob (BikerBob) all live locally.  Maybe we could do a drinks/dinner thing?  Check you PM's, and I'll give you my numbers.

Regards,

LOL  Don't be thinking you're gonna sit on some warm beach soaking up some rays in SF and I dare you to jump in the water.  I made that mistake back in 1986.  My ex and I were on vacation and drove through SF.  Found a place to park close to the water not too far from the Golden Gate bridge.  Me being the lover of water that I am, stripped my shirt off and ran to the water and dove in.  Shocked  BRRRRR!

I live on the coast 200 miles south of SF.  The warmest our ocean water gets, in the middle of summer, is the low 60's.  Definately wetsuit temps.

Today is sunny, 75 degrees, shorts and tee-shirts weather.  When summer comes and it warms up inland, the hot air rises and sucks the fog onto the coastline.

Today I live in Los Osos.  In July I live in Fog Osos.

Make sure you have a car with an automatic transmission.  A standard transmission is a major pain in the butt.  Some of the streets are on major inclines and you have to stop at a stop sign while on a big hill.  Going downhill - not such a problem.  Going uphill - sheesh!
