I love these Steve...thanks for sharing...
It's exactly how I felt last night sitting in the dark riding out an attack, hating the dark, but not being able to turn on the light or it would hurt worse, so fumbling in the dark for the imitrex.  And then this morning, feeling totally wiped... Undecided

Some day...soon... Wink

Think so?

The cat
Shat
In the hat.

Like it? I wrote it just this morning, sitting on the shitter.

When it comes right down to it, people on this board can be the most loving, compassionate, and supportive people in the world, and sometimes, can be the most brutal, mean, and downright cruelest people I've ever met.

Maybe when people are in pain, it makes them feel better if they can take it out on someone else. My dad used to do that a lot. If he had a bad day at work, he'd come home and beat me into unconsciousness...

Around here, the weapon of choice seems to be sarcasm, a rolling of the eyes, snarky PM's, and/or belittlement.

I guess this really IS a family! Just as dysfunctional and fucked-up as every other family.

I really admire certain people around here who are SO tough that nothing ever touches them... Nothing ever affects them. No matter what happens, they can laugh it up and put on an air of hard invincibility, ignore people, talk about them behind their backs, or make sarcastic coments. Somehow, this is seen as heroic, cool, or strong.

Rather than making an excuse and saying, "Well, we're all a bunch of dain-bramaged clusterheads," I find that I disagree. There are certain people here that have heart damage. Spiritual damage. People who will hurt others because they feel they have an excuse to do so, or they think it will make them appear wiser, or more board-savvy. All it does is make them look more impoverished in spirit, and reveals their true colors.

It's not "sensitive." It's called being human. There are a number of people around here who might try it, sometime. Or not. Feel free to carry on with the noisy, laughing party, the backstabbing, the gossip, the cliques, and enjoying the big snickering joke of kicking people in the stomach for the sheer enjoyment of it.

*shrug*

There was a lot of really bad poetry floating arpund a thread today...I wrote some of it. I wrote it to poke fun at people who don't like poetry...not to poke fun at people who write it. I really liked these two poems of Steve's. Just so everyone is clear where I stand. I'd hate to be responsible for hurt feelings.  Undecided

I hope you realize did not mean what I said sarcastically.  And yes, you are sensitive.  Sensitive is much more than just being easily offended, that's just a side effect. That is NOT a bad thing, I am sensitive myself.

There are folks who post here who are not sensitive, they are realists and practical, that is not a bad thing either.  Just different.

Steve, you once wrote me a smiley fairy tale. I knew you had talent then. I also know you have a love for honesty and kindness.
I dont know what went on here, but my goodness, my friend, do you have any clue how much you are thought of here?
It's true, often the words that land on this screen are cruel and uncalled for, but the good always outweighs the bad.
Besides, you cant leave or lurk or nuttin...................you KNOW it wont be long bfore you'll have to break out in smilies..........
Post away, poem away....and Frank, please do the same....maybe we all need a bit of 'culchuh!" (pronounce it-actually spelled culture)

Oh I remember that!  That was awesome!  Aw come on Steve, you are missed so much already! Don't let one of many or even if its a few (I'm generally clueless) of many ruin what you got goin on here!  You have many many people/FRIENDS that are already getting KOP withdrawals Wink Grin

I may not comment on alot of the poetry threads, but I am always reading them.  And hoping I can start writing poetry again (it's been years!)  You poets are a bit of an inspiration to my creative side!

Thanks, but no thanks. I'll stick with being human. You really should try it, some time. Maybe someday, huh? (Don't worry: I won't be holding my breath in hope.)

I am curious about something, though: You are the self-proclaimed "king," and you are in a unique position to really do something with your leadership, and instead, you use it to ridicule and hurt other people, and drive people away. Why?
