Charlie is our EBay afficianado. He and a few others do quite a bit of business on EBay. Send an IM to Charlie. Gator

Well......this is the first I've heard of this and I'm still not sure what it is exactly. Ebay bounces you all over the place when it tries to explain something. It pisses me off because they never cease to emai me with all kinds of not so great crap. I didn't find it on the site map. I gave up and used Yahoo. I get along fine without it anyway. People who use ebay are for the most part terrified of bad feedback which keeps things pretty level. You have to use your head is all. Geeze. You'd think they'd have emailed those of us who have been there for a long time. Charlie

I've bought and sold fairly extensively on EBay. Never a problem.

Square trade is a third party negotiator between the seller & buyer. I've never had to use them. My sister has. They ended up negotiating for $100 reimbursment for a $300.00 item. If they would have disagreed to that, they would have only recieved $50.00 from square trade. I wouldn't rely on it too much if a transaction dispute arises. Your safest way to send payment is using a credit card through paypal. Your credit card is probably already insured up to a certian amount on purchases. NOT a debit card, they will not reimburse. The best way to deal on ebay is to check out the person's feedback and be leary of newbies without a reputation IMHO.

I'm an Ebayer and I've used Square Trade. Membership in my view is pointless and a waste of money, but if you have a dispute with someone, it can be worth paying the $10 to have a mediator intervene, particularly if bad feedback is involved. Lots of reasons for this, causes a troublesome person grief, it CAN result in feedback being withdrawn which can be worth money to your reputation etc etc etc W the B

I do Gator, only had it happen on one when the buyer refused to reply to them, definitely worth $10, but the pisser is, if they reply the mediator is totally toothless. No power whatever, nada, so it can be $10 wasted. I just like the fact that if an arsehole leaves me unfair feedback, the Square Trade process takes up their time and gives them a bit of grief, which I enjoy. Wendy

| Actually, I was talking about when the person who started a thread deletes his starting post. This ain't my thread. I don't do EBay. At least not yet. Gator

I bought a computer on Ebay, got burned. In my opinion Ebay and Square Trade are a waste of time. I went through law enforcement. I got all my money back. Tim
