Yesterday our primary care physician called and said my wife has Lupus He wants her to go to Boston to see a specialist. I'm pretty bummed guys, she's my everything and unfortunately I can't make it stop or else I would, infact my understanding is that there's no cure at all so recovery isn't an option I guess If you could spare a prayer for us it would be greatly appreciated. God knows we need it. Thanks guys Love to all Sean.......................

Sean, lupus is rough, but I knew a lady who lasted a very long time, and had a fairly good life, even with the lupus. Strange thing was, she did not die from lupus or its complications. She was a diabetic (even before the lupus) and that is what got her! But, you still got my prayers and vibes for you and your darling wife. You can deal with this. Be there for her, as she has been there for you. Chuck

I am sorry to hear this. My prayers and on their way, bro. In the mean time, this page from www.lupus.org gives a lot of hope. http://www.lupus.org/education/prognosis.html Quote: PROGNOSIS: The idea that lupus is generally a fatal disease is one of the gravest misconceptions about this illness. In fact, the prognosis of lupus is much better today than ever before. |

Sean give your wife a great big hug and be strong for her. Lupus is NOT the end of the world although it may seem like it. My Aunt was diagnosed over 20 years ago with Lupus and the doctors have been able to control it fairly well....deal with it the best you can and read, read, read...any of this sound familiar? You know what to do...now do it. There is hope, and there is prayer. I will be praying for the both of you...for strength and for health. Love you both, DD

But last I saw them they were doin GREAT......the one went thru some bad times at first then it seem'd to subside and she has been doin good a long time. Other friend did great several years.....she had a bad spell couple years back but like I said...seems to come and go with ups and downs. Good luck to ya both and hope she has all GOOD times. Sean, prayers and good vibes coming your way. Read up on the disease, knowledge is power. Glad to hear that she'll be going to a good doc, that makes all the difference in the world.
