This broke my cycles and took my clusters away!

Hey, as soon as I woke up this morning I knew I had to share this with you all! I was getting my clusters every two hours a night, exhausting and painful to say the least! This is the first time I have had them with no medical insurance. It cost 74.00 for the doctor and 56.oo for two doses of nasal Imatrex which did nothng for me! Out of desperation, I went onto WEB MD and typed in cluster headaches and found a link to a site www.sinusbusters.com. It is hosted by a gentleman who suffered through severe clusters for 15 years, was sprayed with pepper spray on the Ophra show and realized that his cluster ceased immediately. So he develped a nasal spray which contains pepper and other natural ingredients. For 12.00 a bottle, heck ya I would try it! Well, it is my second night with no cluster attacks! It is a nasal spray, and on the onset of the cluster I just laid back on my pillow and squirted a small amount into my right nasal and let it run back into my throat. Yes it has a bite, but it stopped that head ache and I have had no more! I just had to share this with you all because for me it is a great discovery! But beware, the first time I used it, I was desperate, used to much and let me tell you...it truly has a bite. But it worked! It worked! It worked! Thank you Lord! Good luck everyone! Sindee

You know what? I have truly suffered with these headaches for a very long time! I have tried every medication there is, I have had scans, and the whole nine yards. I have had to listen to my children cry while I waited for the cycle to end so I could tend to them. I have had to work with these, drive with these and attempt to sleep with these clusters. My children and husband have watched hoplessly while I rock, cry and bang. If you people want to ridicule me for sharing something I found to work (at least this time) and judge me for passing that on in the hopes that maybe someone else can maybe break their cycle or reduce the intensity, well then, I feel bad for even sharing this with you! I was truly excited this morning about going 2 nights without an episode and only wanted to share what I found with you! How judgemental can you be? I doesn't matter to me if you try it...I was merely letting you all know it has worked for 2 nights for me. Sorry you find this so humorous. Sindee

Iheard about this treatment while in the Marines from the Battalion Surgeon. I also read something about it on the net..something to the effect that O2 and Pepper spray were the only real tratments for CH.

They did not include the side effects about it to you. It makes you post the same post five times on all boards, wait for the most knowledgable people in the world about clusters to dismiss it, and then go for the sympathy. The whole nine yards as you put it. It seems everyone who has been "cured" by this wonder product has the same side effects. Kevin M

Sindee, Have you read ANYthing at all on this website? Have you searched for other posts about sinusbuster? If you had, I bet you wouldn't have jumped so quickly to make your first posts be about a product, and instead would have posted about yourself and your suffering... Sorry, but it all just feels wrong to me.

Is this an ad and advertisement like the Mary Kay broads who keep surfing the web all over. Maybe someone can to Oprah.com and email her to see if there is any truth to this. Has anyone heard of this and what are the side effects if any?

Speaking of reading, the OUCH Library: A double-blind placebo-controlled trial of intranasal capsaicin for cluster headache. Marks DR, Rapoport A, Padla D, Weeks R, Rosum R, Sheftell F, Arrowsmith F Clinical Immunology Unit, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston 92114. It has been suggested that treatment of cluster headache (CH) patients with topical capsaicin may desensitize sensory neurons by depleting the nerve terminals of substance P. We attempted to determine whether capsaicin is effective in aborting CH attacks. Patients in acute cluster were randomized to receive either capsaicin or placebo in the ipsilateral nostril for 7 days. Patients recorded the severity of each headache for 15 days. Headaches on days 8-15 of the study were significantly less severe in the capsaicin group vs the placebo group. There was also a significant decrease in headache severity in the capsaicin group on days 8-15 compared to days 1-7, but not in the placebo group. Episodic CH patients appeared to benefit more than chronic CH patients. These results indicate that intranasal capsaicin may provide a new therapeutic option for the treatment of this disease. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nasal pepper spray is an effective treatment for clusters although stopping attacks immediately is not common.

Hi Sindee, I don't find your post funny. A lot of people here get sarcastic about some treatments. Honestly, I know it didn't do anything for me, but I don't knock anything, even if it works for one person out of a million. To me it's always good news when someone finds relief, regardless of the method they use. I hope you stay pain free! Rex

Bob P, Noted. However this: Quote:This broke my cycles and took my clusters away! |

For those of you slamming me, I am an accountant and couldn't care less about selling a 9.00 product that just happened to break my cluster cycles. I have been reading this site for years while suffering through my clusters trying to find out if there are any new medications that might work. I have never encountered such disgraceful behavior from those suffering from clusters as I have with the select few on this site. Those of you slamming me suggest many medications...are you promoting those for the drug manufacturers or the doctors? NO...you are trying to be of assistance to those who suffer through these useless attacks. Just as I am. I am a 47 year old woman who got my first cluster at the age of 17. Back then they didn't even diagnose women with clusters. I suffered many years. I have recently adopted my 4 year old grandson who has seen me go through my clusters for the first time ever and it scared the heck out of him. I have been so desperate for a cure for these things they say I will have for the rest of my life. I cannot imagine being 80 years old, in a nursing home, screaming with pain and no one knowing what it is I am suffering from. As I said, I found the product I used on WEB MD, which led me to www.sinusbuster.com, I read the testimonials and gave it a try. It worked and I just thought I would pass it on. Why do you select few get so worried that someone passes on something that helped them? Are you afraid it might work and you will be left alone on this site? I don't even know if it will work for anyone else. But I do know that my family means alot to me, so does my job and if someone would of told me that chewing gravel would help I would of probably tried that! I wish you all the best. And I pray that one day they find a cure for these useless bouts of pain that torture not only us but those who love us! Take care all! Sindee

Ah Kevin, yes I have reviewed this site for several years and have spoke with doctors about the medications suggested here. And yes I am an accountant with no insurance, because, as I said I have adopted my grandson and did so when he was a year and a half old. I have been a stay at home mom for 2 and a half years so I could help him adjust after the death of his sister. I just went back to work in December, but will be eligible for insurance in March. Why the constant challenge here?

| Because, even tho you had positive results, clinically speaking, your final decision may be quite flawed. The nasal juice you mention has been around for quite a while. You may have had good results, but it would have to be considered a freak anomaly. There are clinical studies done on this stuff.........and it can be effective (kinda), after a couple of weeks......but a few quick snorts and "I'm Cured" really blows the bell curve of patient responses. Glad you're feeling footloose and fancy free, but you'll pardon the clan if they take this with a grain of salt. There've been a bunch of Hucksters in here pushing this juice for fun and profit. Pardon the skepticism, but it's pretty well justified. There is no sin in Sindee, RJ

Sindee, What makes it sound like a sales pitch is the manner in which you posted it. - Identical posts to several boards is indicative of sales spam. That lack of board etiquitte is common among shills. - No clusterhead would mispell 'Imitrex'. We know the details of our treatments better than our childrens birthdays. On the other hand, you referred us to a site that does not exist (remove the 's'). And I know that sinus issues can trigger an episode for myself. So who knows? Please post a pic of the sinusbuster next to your cluster meds. Make sure we can see the prescription details on your med bottles... dates, drug name, etc. Thanks in advance. And welcome... I am glad you found something. Post that pic and I will buy a bottle. Best, Lobster
