1. Taking aspirin at the onset of a cluster headache will greatly diminish the length and severity of your pain. Don't wait until the pain is unbearable to begin treatment.
2. Caffeine containing medications used in conjunction with OTC pain relievers are the most effective means of treatment.
3. During cluster periods, avoid bright lights or glare, alcohol consumption and excessive stress. Also avoid smoking during a headache.

Geezzz! Now we have a new name -- instead of "suicide headaches" we NOW have "executive headaches". And these people wrote a whole damn book on Clusters.

Very disappointing to know that nowadays we are still being fed the same ignorant crap we were decades ago. Seems like we are going no where fast sometimes and very frustrating.
Every time i read stuff like this i cringe. It makes me feel like no-one is bothering to step up to the plate where cluster headaches are concerned. Medical field is NOT exerting any effort into bringing to the forefront. It's depressing. I know some are. But not enough. I don't mean us as sufferers. I mean the docs and the media. They keep us behind a curtain.
