Whatever is the lowest flow that works for you. I'm 6'4", 240 lbs. and get by just fine on 7-8 lpm. No sense running your tanks dry twice as fast if you don't have to. Start around 12 lpm and then lower it 1 lpm each attack until you think it is not working as well. Go back up 1 lpm from there and you are at your optimum usage/dose.

My regulator only goes to 7 or something. I know that if I put it on 5 that is pretty good. For minor headaches, or for when I catch it very early, I only put it on 2. Are we talking the same numbers? Mine is LITRES per minute and I have a 680 litre tank. Thanks and PF wishes BMonee

Rat!!!! I'll be damned. We all thought you were dead. The LPM thing is kind of arbitrary. As a smoker, you should know the amount of O2 you can inhale is mostly dependant on the capacity of your _good_ lung. 15 LPM is great at onset, when yer crapping your pants, and huffing like a madman, but as things get under control, it's fun to see how low you can turn the flow and still achieve success. Don't forget Bobby's rules of the road: 1. Cut the strap off the mask. 2. Make sure the intake valve (between the bag and mask) is functioning properly. 3. Put tape over the exhaust valves on the sides of the mask so they don't work. Procedure: 1. Turn on the O2 and let bag fill. 2. Press mask against face with one hand and squeeze the bag with the other hand, inhale deeply. 3. Release the bag and pull mask slightly away from face, exhale through mouth, blowing the air down away from the mask. 4. Repeat #2 & #3. Technique is everything. I'm so glad you're not dead, RJ
