  Anyone know of any product/procedure/service to aid in saving VHS tapes infected with mold/mildew.  Had box of tapes (very important to me/family) which were stored in a (we thought) dry place . . . . wrong.

  All tapes have some degree of mold.  Wife has presented box to me one more time before trashing.

  Any ideas?

 Thanks,

Dear Richard;

Just spoke with two of my engineers (I work at a television station) and they said the only thing that can be done is that you can take the tape apart, get a real soft cloth and wipe the tape. Matt advised that you would have to be careful not to scratch or wrinkle the tape. Once it has been wiped clean, you would have to put it back in the cartridge and rewind it. Matt & Al both advised that this is a very slow process, but that they didn't know of any other way to do it..

Peace & Blessing

   Thanks to you too Lady Luv, might have to go the long laborious way if the above doesn't work out.

     Thanks again,
