Cycle should be over, minus some maintainence. Knock on wood and fingers crossed. About two weeks of bad hits, glad it's over. Didn't even get to try the wonder fungus, but very glad it is helping people, may need it later. Got a bad cold now, funny how that is so not an issue. Glad to find O2, thanks to those with info on that and folks who made that available. Many a middle of the night trip to CH.com to find details of using the O2. Actually Ueli posted the most useful info on O2 I read so far, thanks for that. Big thank you Ree, big prayers to your boys and family . Thanks for the well wishes. Just an update for friends, I am posting less and less just cause.

| well, I had about two weeks of shadows and low kip ch's before that so the cycle was a little longer. Still may get some low kip hit's, not ruling it out so O2 will be standing by. But nights and days have been pf for a few. Thanks.

O2 was all I used, for the last week maybe a little more. Taking care of myself, I am a buddhist so some religious practices involved with that. But in the end, I am simply fortunate that it was a short cycle, many wishes for others to be fortunate also with short cycles and pain free days and nights. Just want to say thanks. Came across more than one study that show that meditation can increase melatonin levels - might that be one of your practices?? Quote: Biol Psychol. 2000 May;53(1):69-78. Acute increases in night-time plasma melatonin levels following a period of meditation. Tooley GA, Armstrong SM, Norman TR, Sali A. School of Psychology, La Trobe University, Victoria, Bundoora, Australia. greggo@deakin.edu.au To determine whether a period of meditation could influence melatonin levels, two groups of meditators were tested in a repeated measures design for changes in plasma melatonin levels at midnight. Experienced meditators practising either TM-Sidhi or another internationally well known form of yoga showed significantly higher plasma melatonin levels in the period immediately following meditation compared with the same period at the same time on a control night. It is concluded that meditation, at least in the two forms studied here, can affect plasma melatonin levels. It remains to be determined whether this is achieved through decreased hepatic metabolism of the hormone or via a direct effect on pineal physiology. Either way, facilitation of higher physiological melatonin levels at appropriate times of day might be one avenue through which the claimed health promoting effects of meditation occur. |

i'm sorry, I was wrong. I feel like an idiot but I got hit the last couple of nights. It seemed like it was over, maybe my cold fu the cycle. I just think it is important to never ever give bad info on CH, especially since folks took notice of my short cycle, false hope does more harm than good. Sorry about that. I'll keep plodding away in cluster hell until it is really over.

oh, John - don't you dare go feeling like an idiot!! Nor do you need to apologize!! This is quite common for the cycle to give you a few pain free days and then come back with a vengance before it leaves for good. It's as if it has to remind you that it's leaving but it wants to take one final mighty kick at you before it dies out. This happens to Mike almost every cycle. Just when we think we're out of the wood *BLAMMO* we go through Hell Week. Take heart, friend - if you got a break like that, that's a good sign - you're in the home stretch now!

Had almost a full week of being PF, Just about to post the "end of cycle " news, when the weather went apeshit and touched off another week of hell. Hope it ends soon for ya!! I'm anticipating an end after this last " Hoorah". Wishing PFDAN to all!!!!!!!!!!! ski

you are right margi, those last few days did seem to be the death rattle. I have been pain free now again for the last 3-4 nights. but I am not saying anything about my cycle being over (ever again). but hope it stays as pf as it has been this week. regardless, I will have my trusty O2 bottle near in case. fingers crossed.
