I promised Grandma_Sweet_Boy/Carol that I'd post these for her. She has an old guitar that she is trying to find out more about. I have traced it as far as being a 1937 Chicago series National Triolian Guitar. She would like to have more information on it if anyone else here can come up with any more. Here's the front of it. Here's that headstock on it.

They seem to be showing up fine here and at another system I tested on. Try to right click on the picture and then select 'Show Picture' from the pop up menu. Pat

If you right click and select properties, you can drag over the entire URL in the properties box and copy by pressing Ctrl+C and then open up a new copy of Internet explorer. Click in the address bar and pree CTRL+V to paste it in. Hit enter and you should get it that way. If not, You'll have to wait til you get home.

Thanks Paddy for posting that for me. Paul - yes it can be tuned. It has a small dent in it that was caused from me firing it down a set of stairs at my sister's head. Sadly, I missed her! I do recall however getting my a$$ tanned for that little stunt! What I'm trying to do is find the history of this machine. I know it's at least 62 years old but is it older and where did it come from? It would be nice to know about it so when I pass it down, perhaps we could do that with some information about it. I still have the steel slide bars and finger picks that my Dad wore when he played it. Carol

Carol, My educated guess is that it is about 66 or 67 years old. The serial number of A1928 is listed as a 1937 Chicago Series National guitar on the web site who's URL I can't remember now. Now at the end of my 999th post, I say Good Night and PF times to you all. It's time for me to go home and make dinner for my wife. Pat AKA Paddy

Hey Don - that was very kind of you - thanks. Too bad I'm so computer useless - perhaps I could have figured it out then. Your help is much appreciated. Mine does have the mahogany neck as opposed to the maple one that it mentions in that site. Again, thanks. Carol

Carol, The guys at this other web site swear up and down that your guitar is a 1930 Bakie. Bakie means not a mahogany neck but some kind of plastic composite thing that looks a lot like wood, Here's a picture of one that a guy posted for me. He says it's the same model and year as yours. He also said he paid $2000 for it on EBay but he had to have a lot of work done on the neck to make it playable. If the neck on yours is still straight and playable, I'd take pretty good care of it since these necks have a tendancy to warp pretty easy.

You could send it to Goez guitars in St. Louis Mo. they redo a lot of guitars. They do work for Fleetwood Mac, Allman bros. Steeley dan, James taylor, on and on. Just had them fix up mine,New frets and all for 100.00 Can't beat that the # is 314 647 1211 they specialize in restoring , refinishing, custom woodworking, structural rebuilding. One of the best in the country. Good luck.

| Never heard of Goez Guitars in St Lou. The only shop I allow to adjust my axe is J. Gravity on Broadway in St Louis. They do incredibly work, and Jim has built several guitars for pros like Eddie Van Halen, Al DiMeola and Bruce Springsteen, to name a few. That is where I got my EMG's for my Jackson. That's a sweet looking Dobro Gran. I have a very old guitar that one day I hope to have the money to invest in having it restored. It is a National Lap steel guitar from the early 1950's that belonged to my father. The Ivory tuning pegs are brittle, and the electronics are shot. It also needs a restorative paint job. Hey Pat, did you ever finish your Charvel? Peace, CD
