past TEETH problems anyone???

hi all Ive come across several references to teeth problems and wonder if maybe any connection with CH As a child when I got my second lot of teeth, I grew a second row of top teeth and had to have them removed, then another random one came later... Not nice shit for a child My teeth are wonky, my jaw is crooked, I have no proper "bite", I grind my teeth at night (goddam sexy aye? ). 20 odd years ago, during one episode my lack of bite was suggested as reason for my CHs and a plate was made up for me to wear to bed over my teeth Cant remember details except it was gross and didnt seem to help anyway, just wondering...??? PFDANs CC (PS Im off to bed now to grind whats left of my teeth, but look forward to seeing any replies in my morning)

I have had teeth probs and my dentist thinks perhaps prednisone is the culprit. Another dentist told me I was an unfortunate experiment in modern dentistry. When the new plastic fillings came out years ago I had all of the silver in my mouth replaced but years later a different dentist said that the sealing techniques were not perfected at the time I had all the work done and so many of the "new and improved" fillings were leaky and caused deep decay. Whatever. dagger

I have had plates made not for grinding but for clenching of my jaw. I had a sugery to straten my jaw line which it did not, I have had teeth pulled and have had braces put on. All because some doc told me that, that was the reason I had these damn headaches. Well 12 yeas later and I am out lots of money my teeth are not all that much better and I still have CH. Take what you want from that story!

Hrmmm... I've had one cavity in my entire life. I had to get my top front two teeth capped because I busted them in a bike crash. While in the Army, I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. That's the extent of any dental work, for me.

TMJ from a botched extraction of my wisdom teeth. Anything that irritates the trigeminal nerve could contribute to CH. Neck problems and head trauma are also higher among cluster heads than the general population.

| I had tons of teeth issues and ended up with root canals in almost all my teeth. Also have TMJ. The CH can trigger the TMJ and the TMJ can trigger CH. Or is it all the same??

| Knew you were a poet Frank Actually ever since they jammed 6 needles into the roof of my mouth (which didnt work) before wrestling with the stray tooth, I wont have any injection in my mouth except for extraction or root canal Thanks for your replies I have back and neck problems too I havent woken up properly yet - whats TMJ? Temporal Mandibular Joint. Basically, it's where your lower jaw hinges, just below your temple. A lot of people end up with the cartilage wearing out and get excrutiating pain whenever they chew or bite, or open their mouths too wide, which can really put a damper on peoples' sex lives, but that's a different story for a different time.

CH and teeth.... some sad stories about unnecessary extractions which of course had nothing to do with CH and so far as I can see, teeth problems and CH are not related. Charlie

My CH has caused problems with my Teeth, not the other way around. Seems I clench my teeth when I am getting hit hard. Cracked three molars. Just had one removed. Not fun. DD

Had all four wisdom teeth pulled and 2 months later developed clusters. Always thought they were connected but neuro says no. Still wandering! been chronic ever since.

Had some toofer probs. Got some yanked, root canals on some. Sometimes my teeth hurt from clenching my jaw. I also have TMJ which I was told by my Doc can aggravate any pre-existing headache. When my Doc asked me if I grind my teeth in my sleep, I told him I didn't know since I am asleep at the time. Come to find out I do grind my teeth, which explains why the bottom row of teeth are all chipping. Oh, and I got to see a pan x-ray of my jaw and my jaw sits crooked as well. It almost looks like the left jaw is unhinged. Very strange. Peace, CD

I had my wisdom teeth pulled six years before I developed CH, so I agree with your neuro. (as much as it pains me to agree with a neurologist... LOL)

| Ditto.. and she also said O2 dries your mouth out alot (like I didn't know that!) which isn't good for your pearly whites either. Had half a root canal done today, other half next week and I have to have another one done as well..

Usually at the end of a cycle and the following weeks/months, the upper teeth on my cluster side feel like they wanna jump right out of my head! The rest of the time... no problems on that side. Just a cracked molar and a couple of other small problems. grew up playing hockey, grant (and my smile doesn't look like this... )
