Baby pics, anyone?

I've been away. And I was remiss in not stating that I would be away, thereby leaving my absense open to sinister speculation. The truth is not sinister, however, but rather nice. It was a planned "vacation" away from work, away from computers, away from anything but family. My wife's mother and father flew in from Finland to celebrate Kaisa-Tinúviel's baptism. They were here for just over a week and a half. Without more blather, here are the photos: My wife's parents, Sirkka and Heikki, with us, of course. Kaisa-Tinúviel dressed in her baptismal gown. My mother was baptized in this gown, my brother, sister and I, all my neices and nephews and now Kaisa-Tinúviel. A few shots from the Baptism. The proud parents and teary-eyed godparents (the infamous Sara & Jason - although only if you are familiar with last year's New Year's celebration...another story, another thread...) Post-Baptism... Cute, eh? I will now try to play catch-up on the board, as I have been doing at work. Hirvimaki-Isi

| They did. And we enjoyed having them here. Kaisa-Tinúviel is the first grandchild for them, so they were more than a bit with the baby-worshiping. I'm just a touch OCPD (OK, a LOT, but it just adds to my perfection!) and so having people stay at the house put me on my tip-toes; the week and a half visit was plenty of time for me! The devilish grin on my father-in-law's face as he told me that he had gotten a pair of shoes, two shirts and a pair of pants for the price he would have paid for just the shoes in Finland was priceless!! And he read every single gas price sign we passed while driving around. Complain all you want about gas being around two bucks a gallon here, but remember it is four times as expensive in Finland! Outstanding. I'm glad when people visit the US and have a good time, and come away with a favorable impression. It sounds like Finland and Japan have very similar prices on gas. Ugh...

Oh Hirv she is growing too fast.. you must be feeding her too much! She is so lovely and the pic of her wrapped up in her little pink blanket is just... priceless. I'm lost for words to describe how that made me feel. Being boring I filled up my car here today and paid 86.9 pence per litre which equates to over $6 per gallon and its been much dearer than that too!

$6/gallon?? HFS!!! For that kind of money, you could probably buy your own dinosaur and squash him yourself, to turn him into fuel! Mmmm... Dinosaurs. Crunchy!

She's a beauty Hirvi. Before you know it though, she'll be asking for the keys to the car. They grow too quick. Glad your in-laws had a wonderful trip to visit. Peace, CD

Lovely pics, Hirv. In my family, we as well have passed down the baptismal gown. It was worn by all 11 of my siblings and myself, and is now being used on each and every neice & nephew. That thing has been worn 45 times now. Tradition is wonderful ! Keep the pics coming !

I don't have any baby pics. I was so ugly, the cameras kept breaking, and the photos that did turn out were promptly incinerated. -Igor
