Changing some meds and he is talking about putting me on Topamax. I don't wanna!!!!! From what I have read it is not a fun drug to be on and my job is very detail oriented and I need to be able to concentrate. I am not ready to talk about everything here but I am ok. Nothing life threatening, not "nothing", but I will be fine. When I have a bit more info I will update everyone. Love to you all! Karen

Be prepared to start writing reminder notes, and then be prepared to have someone to remind you to read the post-it notes. Just kidding. You'll be fine. Peace, Carl D

I forgot the "funny" thing that happened today at the dr's. I told him my ear and throat were kind of sore and asked if he could look at them for me while I was there. So he looks in my ear and said there was a little fluid then looks in my throat and tells me I have an ulceration on my tonsil. To which I say "WHAT TONSILS?!" Apparently they have grown back. I had the bastards out when I was in 2nd grade. On a positive note our computers went down today at 11am and we got to go home early - at 3:30. YIPPEE! I was scheduled until 5:45! Whoo-hoo!

Topamax has bad press here but you never know. There have been a few, if I remember, that haven't had much trouble with it. I used it for seizures and it was the best drug I ever used. Sadly, I just couldn't stay with it. Rats. Still, give it a chance. You never know. Charlie

Love my topa... for a few weeks at a shot. The full dose I take (100mg) makes me dumber than a soapdish.

Topamax seems to be working fine for me during this cycle. I have never previously used anything but verapamil and lithium. Only three mini-headache in ten days. I can live with that. I had no IQ to begin with so there is no noticeable change.

I am with Mik. Topa and my hypothalathingy are big on each other. For short durations I can deal with being a PF mouth breather. A month or so ago I was heavy on the Topa. Was on a call, wrapping up a fairly complex patent app with a few IP law folk and two of my mentees. I literally had to stop the discussion and pop the meeting back two weeks... we were working on a section with some nice stiff SAN technology and I, for the life of me, could not generate any freaking content. Kinda like writers block for geeks. So when I do my Topa... I take the full 100mg in conjunction with my other goodies to try to abort the cycle, but am always tapering it down to 50mg & 0mg to see if I can do without.
