Hey, I remember at one point one of my nueros said caffine "might" help CHs?  I tried coffee and it never really helped me but perhaps I never did enough.  Anyone ever drink 3 cans of Red Bull and see if it helps?  I'm out of cycle now (THANK GOD!!!) so I can't do the experiment.  That Red Bull gives me a good jolt out of cycle so... maybe?

I've never tried Red Bull, but my fav (and happily the best) treatment when I am being hit is O2 and strong coffee. Sometimes when the KIPs are little, a tall latte is all I need to kick it off.

Red Bull and strong coffee (not the weak american style) will usually kill the annoying shadows and may reduce a full on hit but hasn't aborted one for me.

I tried the red bull trick and it didn't work for me.. I tried it with diet red bull. I tried it again with "fat" red bull and it blew my pain right out of the water! Seems to work for shadows for me but not bigger hits.
So to sum up, sod the calories if it'll make the pain go away!
Hope it works for you

Every time I see Red Bull at the store I eye up those teeny little cans and those hella high prices.

Slamming three cans would be about 5 or 6 bucks, would it not?

I have seen discussion on this in the meds forum.  What ingredient(s) do you think is the ticket?  We can no doubt make up a gallon of it for a dollar if we know what element of the bull is doing the trick for some of us.

i tried red bull once. the cluster got worse so i had to take an imitrex and i think the redbull imitrex combo was weird. it just felt strange. not like usually taking imitrex. but it wasn't bad and went away in 15 mins, and the cluster of course stopped in like 4mins

This iis nteresting. I steal coffee beans from those whole bean dispensers every time I go to the store, stick them in my jacket and munch on them all the time. I haven't had a cluster attack in more than 13 years.

What's Red Bull?

Sugar and caffine for 2 bucks a can.  Gives me a serious jolt if I drink a can quick.  3 of 'em in a row might make me crawl out of my skin.

That crap is crazy expensive.

In the thread you speak of, the so-called active ingredient (besides caffeine) was taurine.  Floridian provided a write up on taurine as well as broke down the individual ingredients.  Came out to something like 50 cents.  It's still like everything else, though.  Works for some - not for others.

Thanks Gator!  That earlier thread is interesting.  Works then it doesn't work, like so many other pharmalogical contraptions.  I think I'll give it a go next cycle -- hopefully 2-1/2 to 3 years from now if my CH trend continues its progression.
