Seven mad dancing witches high on an ocean cliff screaming their songs into the tempestuous night and the wind that blew them all into the sea and to their deaths. The night the lightning shattered the lighthouse leaving not one stone atop of another. The ghostlight that sometimes flickered over grandfather's house on that same site, frightening the town dwellers below. Astronomy and grandfather's study full of ancient books and scrolls. Blood-oaths of secrecy and experiments with time and synchronicity as the old man grew gaunter and more wild-eyed day by day. Mystical marriage of alchemy, science, metaphysics, passionate insanity, and the night that the entire house erupted into flames. The yawning chasm in the earth below, revealing a rotting mapcase that within, was a scroll with unutterable mysteries inscribed upon its crumbling face.
Seven gates of madness
Seven years of labor. Seven mysteries.
Seven aligned planets. Seven scrolls. Seven timepieces. Seven witches.
