A 'trained' eye can accurately guess on which side you are getting hit on ... Clusterheads tend to open the eye bigger on the unaffected side. Has anyone else had a neuro tell you which side you were getting hit on ? Has anyone else ever heard this before or noticed it ? Unsolved

I haven't heard about that. I have met 4 neuros so far... you would think that one of them would have mentioned. Thank you for sharing this piece of information! sandie99

Unsolved I had a 100% record in telling which side a clusterhead gets hit by looking at their eyes until I blew it last Saturday and got Sisyphus wrong! Wendy

Wendy, your secret's out then, huh? I'm sure that's how you can tell ??? (right??) I've met many neuros in my 16 yrs of being a clusterhead. Only Dr. Rozen mentioned this and accurately guessed which side I was getting slammed on. Unsolved

Honestly! I tell truth! Sadly with long term chronics it's often easy to tell as the eye can be actually lower. Not sure I've tried to guess with an episodic out of cycle, can't remember, but in cycle and if they've recently been hit either the pupil is more dilated, the eye is open wider, or the dead give-away...........it's bloodshot! What about people that get hit on both sides? Or are you talking about someone guessing on which side one is getting hit more often? Just asking because i'm getting hit on both sides (about 50-50) and i haven't noticed anything. PFDAN to all, Perry.

Perry No idea as I haven't personally met a "both sider" yet. I would guess there was some effect but as it is balanced it might not show ?? Wendy

My friend can tell she says my eyes look "sprung" my pupils dialate abnormally within 30 minutes I get hit. During a cycle, the white of my eyes rage from bloodshot to a yellow. I guess it is pretty obvious a co-worker asked me how my head was, I usually lie. She said never mind your eyes look like hell. So I suppose it doesnt have to nessesarily be a "trained" eye just an observant one.

I have a neice who can tell when I'm going to get hit.She says she can tell because my eye looks funky. I'm not sure what funky is, I can only see it get a little droopy.

One of the known side effects I think It is called miosis is where one pupil gets larger than the other one. I can't remember which it was that my neuro told me but I think the smaller pupil is the effected side. Anyway she was dead right and I have read about this other places.

The pupils.... and the drooping.... they change before ya'll feel a thing. did ya know that?? LOL I hate the f'kn beast....... have I mentioned that lately - he turns my husband into some other man. I married to two different men............. isn't bigamy illegal??? dammit

Yep. First time I saw a neuro he ordered an MRI because my hit side eye was open more than the other and he wanted to make sure there wasn't something else causing the eye to be like that.

oh for sure - cluster eyes are very easy to spot for the trained observer. I'm betting most supporters here know well before their sufferer is going to get hit. I can tell from BobP's picture page which side most people get hit on. What's also interesting is the silent attack phenomenon - meaning, neurologically, a cluster attack is happening but no pain is felt. This happens to my husband for the duration of his remission. He goes into cycle every two years (2004 is a remission year) but, every day around 4 p.m., Mike gets the "cluster eyes" and they stay that way until about 4:45. Like clockwork. It freaked me out at first, but I know now that he can't even feel it so I don't bother reminding him that it's happening.

Human faces are asymmetrical anyway, but yeah, my right eye is slightly larger than my left and I always get hit on the right side.

Dr rozen had a 50% chance of guessing right, unless you look like one of those characters in Monsters Inc. Those odds are far better than any odds you can get in Las Vegas. Never heard that before but I do notice that even out-of-cycle, when I try to open both eyes as wide as possible, I get a strange mild warm feeling in my cluster-side eye?
