I'm at the grocery store the night before Thanksgiving, getting a few last minute items. I get into the express lane. Some not a very nice person ahead of me has approximately 24 items, and naturally, some of them don't ring up the way they are supposed to, so things are further delayed. The thing I wanted to say while pointing to the "10 items or less" sign was:
"Madam, are you unable to count, or merely unable to read?"
I'm guessing she didn't have educational issues, but an over-inflated ego (she was obviously too important to follow rules written for everyone else). I bit my tongue in the holiday spirit. I'm glad Thanksgiving only comes around once a year.
