Seriously: Is there anyone, anywhere that reads "Prince Valiant?" I plead not guilty. Charlie

Funny you mention that Charlie. The first thing I do every morning (along w/ that 1st cig) is read the comics. (I read the hard news and editorials LAST) Anyway - just this past Sun I'm looking at the comics and I think - Hey, Prince Valiant has been around since I was a kid...wonder if anybody reads it? I remember my mother going thru a Valiant reading phase when I was a kid...

I read _The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe_ recently. The last time I read it was the 7th grade Any reading is good reading, good brain exercise.

Didn't really know Prince Valient was still around, not that it's been missed. Prince V must only come with the Big City Sunday edition. I'm in the suburbs, and can only afford the poor white newspaper trash. Don't read it, either. Not that it matters, RJ

| I think I read that book in 7th grade, as well. I also liked the book "A Wrinkle in Time"...remember that one? Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe and the Restaurant at the end of the Universe are also some of my favorites. And, yes, Charlie...I have read Prince Valiant for many, many moons now...just don't ask how many . DD DD

I've read so much SF that the shelves overflowed. I haven't read much after the early 80s though. I love most of it. I'm the only person in the world that found DUNE boring. Liked Larry Niven a lot and a bunch of others. Most of the big ones. Charlie

Ditto. I hated Dune. Good Sci-Fi: Ray Bradbury and William Gibson. "A Wrinkle In Time," was actually two books, and the continuation was "A Wind In The Door." Excellent book.

I've read almost all of the Newberry award winner books. These books are used a lot in grade School. My wife teaches 3rd grade and leaves her stuff around all the time. They're great books. The last Newberry book I read was 'Holes'. Don't get excited jonny. These are the kind of holes that get made by shovels.

| Bob, I heard from Ken just last month. He's still running that bookstore in NY. The advent of the new board and the population boom here at ch.com was too much for him, I think. He was going in to cycle again when he wrote but he seemed to be handling it in stride, as always. He's a good guy.

More silliness: An Eskimo walks into a garage with a broken down snowmobile...The mechanic looks the motor over and said, "Looks like you blew a seal"...The Eskimo hastily wipes his moustache and says, "No, that's just snot!"
