Morning Glory Great golden lion of the Sun! Awake! Stretch tawny muscles and shake yourself! Rip open the lid of night and Leap high into the great azure plain! The ray of dazzling light that strikes The tallest spires and flings the birds across the sky! The bright clear dawn that has coaxed the sweet roses From their long slumber! Would that my back could sprout fine strong wings under your warmth, A song of joy erupting from my breast, Soaring high into your magnificant radiance, Even to fall to the earth as laughing ashes! -Frank H. Weeden

Thank you, Lionsound. After all of the rougher stuff I've posted lately, I thought this would make for a nice breather.

Damn! Nice photo, Paul! I used to have this on a webpage, with an illustration of Icarus leaping off of a cliff into a dawn sky...

| Wait a minute, I'm getting confused now. There's flowers, there's the Canadian translation, there's agreement about the Canadian translation, and then there's jonny's smiley that makes me reread this again. Quote:! Awake! Stretch tawny muscles and shake yourself! |

first time I've heard "morning glory" and not though.. never mind! Oh our lovely common language eh?! Frank once I got over my disappointment.. confusion it was a lovely poem. Made me think of a sunrise and the new world symphony... or fantasia, I love that film! Fancy it being a flower too.. does it have thorns? Wood WOULD I have to watch out for the pricks?!!
