Ok I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this and it's come up a lot... I'm taking 30mg of Prednisone which i have found to be the lowest dose that effectively stops the attacks. so if the does is so low why am i such an angry cranky bitch? anyone else like this on such a low level? i mean everyone at work is pissing me off and i'm fighting so hard not to explode. this is normal, right? or do i have a more serious problem than just medication side effects? thoughts? j

It's most likely the Prednisone, or maybe you have some tacks in your back pocket....

Probably the meds. How long have you been taking the pred? How long are you scheduled to take it? I think most people here would agree, Prednisone is not a long term preventative. Too many people have already been permanently screwed up by it. Gator

It's the pred. My wife calls it the divorce drug. Probably because I'm such a bastard when I'm on it. No, from my recent posts, I'm not on it now, that is my usual happy self! Almost got thrown in the Crossbar Motel last time I was on. Was pulled over by a cop for "speeding"...he turned the corner the same time I did but seemed to think that I was doing 35 in a 25. When I called him on it, asking to see the radar, he then said he pulled me over for no seatbelt. I said, since it is possible to pull someone over for that in The People's Republic of Illinois, why didn't he just get to the point and not lie to me. That's when he asked if I wanted to go downtown. I said er, no and and he gave me my ticket. T The loud-mouthed pred user

Yep... the pred. Pred makes me into a real prick. But it makes my skull feel oh-so-goood.

| 30mg of prednisone is only a low dose to cluster sufferers. 5mg IS a low dose used for many others. Yep, Prednisone is a wonder drug. While you're on it, you wonder how so many people can be so stupid. When you get off it, you wonder how you remained married. You wonder how you're going to lose the extra 30 pounds. You wonder, if its not bad for me, why do they only let me stay on it for a little while. You wonder, isn't it doing the same damage on day one that it would do on day 10? You wonder, if I stay on it for only 10 days, twice a year, for 18 years, is that the same as staying on it for a full year? BobW You wonder....who made the list of which drugs are safe and which ones aren't?

Well, when I used to take prednisolon it did make me one angry chick in the beginning, then just little restless insomniac. Then it stopped working & CH came back... Best wishes, sandie99

I was on it for eight months for a different condition and I don't think I could bear to take it again, even if it was my only choice. Not only did I get all the usual steroid side effects, football face, weight gain etc. I became terrified of going out, I suffered panic attacks (never had one ever before) if I had people I didn't know near me, I was having really bizarre hallucinations day and night, I wasn't "angry" but I did nothing but cry.. when you find yourself watching the gummi bears with your 3 yr old and you are sobbing your socks off 'cos its sad its just not right!! I'm on different steroids now and I feel fine, all the "additional" side effects are gone and I'm back to being a mental midget which is a HUGE increase in stature from where I was! I know you are only taking them short term and obviously in a very different way so good luck! Maybe you should write a letter to everyone explaining why you are the way you are at the moment and then post it on here for the rest of us to copy! Take care Helen
