I FINALLY get into see a neuro my GP got me into and his nurse called for insurance stuff and we get to talking and sure enough he's not very good and is not the kind of DR that listens. Sounds like he has the "I"M THE DR" thing going on, sooo I am driving an hour and half and waited months to see for nothing. I have to go too cause my GP won't give me any more meds til I see a neuro and I am about out. I SAY FUCK IT ALL!!!! Stop this ride I want to get off!!!!!

Keep looking... you can also show up at the ER during a HA and sometimes that will get you in quicker. The first neuro I saw for this was a JERK. I waited months for the appointment and by the time I got there the cycle was over (not chronic yet)...he had the audacity to say "Well if your not having HAs now-why are you here." I reminded him that CH can come and go and he said "Yes, see me then." Didn't even offer meds!!!Hang in hun-don't scream-it can be a trigger

Been there, done that. My neuro was a complete blithering idiot. In the end, it was GP that gave me the most help. Yes, you can scream, but then get right back in and keep looking for a good doctor. You'll find one sooner or later. Hang tough.

If you ever go to a doctor and do not have a headache at that time or you are out of cycle (because they put you off so long) fake it.
Tell them you are still in a cycle. You know all the symptoms, lie to them. Tell them you are getting hit every night.
At least, I hope, they will give you a prescription and you can start a stock pile for the next cycle (while you are waiting to get in to see the doctor that wouldn't see you when you needed him/her the first time).

Thanks guys,
I am sick of myself these all few days.You know what? Nani's right, if I go and get no where (he has too give me the Verapamil) can't just stop that cold turkey. I will just keep trying and if I have to go to the ER every fuckin week til I get some real help thats what I'll do!!! Okay, I am calm now and coming out of it, cause I am sick of this whining shit lately, its not me!!! CH does strange stuff to a persons mind?????????????

Yeah, my Neuro moved to Boston. The one that I ended up going to near me was the biggest jerk I've ever met. He had the "God complex." Aren't there any neuros out there who are down to earth and know tons about CH?
Go ahead and scream. I have felt your pain. I get to try and find a good neuro once my cycle comes back.

I agree with BobG, lie and say you are having one. I think he should be reported. Where is the rule that neuros have to be jerks? And how do you find one who admits to specializing in head pain and not something "fancy"?
Don't scream, you'll feel worse. Eat something sinful, I know the weight folks would have my head but you might relax a bit.
Go back to your PCP, make him talk to you and insist that you get relief, in his face, now. Make an appointment and go in there, don't just talk to the chicks on the phone.
Not fair that they're not taking care of you. Consider yourself hugged.

Not sure how far away you are from me. I live in Gurnee and found a neuro that listened to me and gave me everything I asked for. It only took about 10 days to see him too. PM me if you want the details.
Good luck. There ARE docs out there that WILL listen. Just takes alot of patience finding them.

Becky, good luck with the neuro. Hope you get better than my first one. I can remember him VERY clearly telling me: "No one can be in as much pain as you PRETEND to be, without anything showing up on any of the tests."
I was then formally declared crazy, and spent the next six years getting my head examined as to why I was PRETENDING to be in pain!
Go with Bob's advice. Fake it!!!!

Damn I wish you were here to see mine. He will see you within 3 of 4 days......Of course I have epilepsy as well and they definitely treat us better.
My neurologist is great though. Now and then I talk about OUCH. He was amazed when I told him I met 100 clusterheads in Nashville. It is amazing when you think about it. Even five years ago or so....how different it is.
You have to find a doctor who wants to help and a place that asks what's wrong before they ask about insurance.
