Thank you for all of your prayers...

Thanks to all of you for all of your encouraging words, prayers, thoughts and vibes. Also, to some of you who sent cards to the house. Ken and I really appreciate it. It's been somewhat soothing for the both of us to see the hundreds of people who loved our Christopher. Even though he was not my biological son - I loved him like he was. I still do, and always will. There was just something special about him, even when he was doing teenage, stupid things - you could never get mad at him. He was just special. What happened is unfair. And despite what I've said in the past that "everything happens for a reason", I'm sorry to say that I cannot, for the life of me find what reason could have been for this to happen. It's just not fair. I was taking a break from the board, because I got so sick and tired of coming to the board and bitching all the time - but I guess that's not going to change, and right now, when the kids go back to school, and Ken gets back to work, will be my time to grieve alone and I'm not looking forward to it, so I'll be around. I want to post funny stories of Christopher's life, some pictures and always keep his memory and loving spirit alive any way that I can right now, without it being so painful to everyone in the house - so I hope you guys don't mind. I just need some help as how to post the pictures. Any help would be great from anyone - thank you in advance. I know that we will eventually start to move on with life, always remembering Christopher and filling this house with even more of his prescence - but in time. Also, I wanted to ask (FORGIVE ME, I FORGOT YOUR NAME) the guy who does the art on the guitars. I wanted to know if you could take my guitar and do a mural of Christopher on it for me. I will ship it, when I have some money - and I want to hang it in memory of him. Leesa, I love you. Thank you for all of your support. I wish there was some way that you could come here. Chuck, Dan, Mel - Gosh, everyone - Bill and Carol - I don't know what to say. Love you all. Toni

Toni, Again, I am truly sorry for your loss. I know how a tragic loss can shake your faith. The statement that everything happens for a reason is less than comforting and can even be insulting and hurtful. What possible reason can there be for all the senseless death and destruction of good people and innocent children? There is a book my psychologist recommended for me that might help. "When Bad Things Happen To Good People," by Harold S. Kushner. It should be in your local library. I'm halfway through it myself right now. It definitely puts a different perspective on things. Hang in there and let us know if you need anything. I look forward to your future posts. Mike

[quote author=Gator link=board=general;num=1099599967;start=0#2 date=11/04/04 at 16:38:58]Toni, I know how a tragic loss can shake your faith. Isn't that the understatement of my lifetime. Oh man Mike - life has to go on, I know this. But when? How? Why? I don't understand. Hopefully, I will have a better understanding when questions are answered with the hospital - if they ever are. It's so hard to keep my faith right now, but I have to try. I prayed so hard - so much - and what happened? I got more prayers in 1 hour, then a Priest or the Pope himself prays in a month - and it didn't work. Now I have to find that faith again? Oh man. I'm out of words. Toni
