UPDATE on Missing Son

I got a call from a friend telling me what town he was in. I mentioned that to another friend and she said the only people he knows out there is x and y. So I called and low and behold I got to talk to my son. He said he hopes to be home in a couple of weeks. Apparently there is a lot of activity going on in town this weekend etc and he didn't want the blame for it. He wanted to be out of town with a wittness. He didn't think the courts would believe us his parents so he looked and found other witnesses. At least he is alive and welll so far. Thank you all so much for your prayers. Please keep prayeing that he stays safe until he comes home I have no idea what he has gotten himself into. I love you all so much. Thanks for your encouregment, love and support.

Sounds like he is staying out of the wrong place at the wrong time. It also sounds as if he is being setup by someone. Even though what he did was wrong, his intentions were right. I hope that you will be able to tell him that he can come to you with any problem no matter how big, and there will be no anger, only help. Most kids think, boy am I going to get it if my parents find out. With kids like this we have to teach them that home is safe and only love , advice and help will come. Now if they don't listen then that's another story. If this sounds like I am judging you, that wasn't the intent, I am only learning how to deal with my daughter as she is heading in the same direction.

Unfortunately Charlie I don't know any more than what I said. I wish I did. I think he is trying to protect us by not saying anything so we don't worry. I also get a feeling it is something gang related going down that he didn't want to be a part of. Weather it was something with him involved he was trying to avoid or something against him It just didn't sound good either way. Thing was all he had to do was say he needed to get out of town and we could have taken him to his grandparents house for the month or whatever and he would have been protected without house jumping and not telling us where he is at. I thought he knew he could trust us with anything.

It might seem backwards, but he really might be smarter then it seems. It apears that he is using his head if he is smart enough to A be aay from whatever is happening (if it is bad enough that he is woried about what the courts ill think) and B he knew that he needed a witness to prove his aliby. I know it is hard hun, but it might be that you have gotten though to him some. I dont look forward to when my 2 are teenagers. I love them so much and want to keep them safe. Be strong and let him know that he can come to you and talk about anything. You need to try and keep that connection / door open.

My son broke into the house today and took all his stuff while we were gone. All his clothes, games, dvd's, music, alarm clock, etc. Now he is completly gone and I have no word or reason as to why. What we did to offend him so badly I have no idea. He won't even talk to his brothers either. I feal like my son just died. He has made it clear that he does not want to see us or talk to us.

So sorry to hear what you're going through Karla.
You have to convince YOURSELF that it is not YOUR fault. It's the only way you are going to learn to live with the situation.
I know it still hurts, but remember he is an adult now and you've taught him right from wrong. He must now use what you have taught him, along with Gods guidance to do the right things.
Don't give up though, he is still young and has time to take the path in the right direction.
Take care and I will pray for you and your family tonight.
