The cool thing is, I believe this is the Kern Canyon, highway 178 between Bakersfield and Lake Isabella, where I grew up. The rocks and vegetation and stuff....

A friend sent that to me... But yeah, he's pretty lucky. If that is, indeed, highway 178 through the Kern Canyon, it's about 100' drop to the Kern River and LOTS of big boulders. My guess is that they pulled him out and the truck was a loss. I could be wrong about the truck, though.
