Feeling a little sick

Oh crap. I'm not feeling to great right now. Red (hubby) and I spent last week in Pittsburgh going through testing for a liver transplant (for him due to HepC). When the call came from the local doc, saying he had to go, I felt sick. Got over that. Then the call came from Pittsburgh, and we were gonna be seen in 2 weeks. Felt sick again. Boy, I don't like it when life rushes past ya and you just can't seem to catch your breath. But to Pittsburgh we went, even met up with JHammer and got hammered (me not hubby ... he ain't allowed to even sniff alchohol !). Felt sick the whole next day. Are you seeing a pattern here. Nancy puking might be it ! LOL. Anyways, stuff in Pittsburgh went really good. Great hospital and lots of nice folks, but exausting. We were pretty sure when we left on Friday (Red had tests from 8 am - 5pm every day Monday through Friday) that he wouldn't be listed for transplant. He's still hanging tough, but by a thread. It's a thread we want to hold on tight to. They told us we probably wouldn't have to come back for a year and that our local doc could oversee his treatment and testing for cancer regime. Got a call today. Seems like we will be traveling to Pittsburgh every 3 months. I hate it when they want to watch so closely. I just hate it. Like the bomb about to drop. I feel sick to my stomach again.

Thanks guys. I decided to cook, cause that's what I do good when stressed. So tonight was pork roast, roasted potatoes, yorkshire pudding, green beans and gravy. I think the kids thought we were celebrating. The neighbor kid must of smelt it and came down for leftovers ! LOL. Oh well, now I just gotta figure out what to make for dinner tomorrow ! And this too shall pass. Thanks for giving me the chance to cry and moan. Felt good. Now I'll get back down to business.

Hiya Nan, You know I'm behind ya 100%! Want me to send ya some Zofran? Compazine? Thorazine?? hehe that'll knock ya out and you won't even have a chance to FEEL sick! j/k of course!! Anyhow, I hope that they can help him out in Pittsburgh. HepC is really a rough one on so many people... I forget what hospital you came to when you were coming to Philly? Was it Penn? I work on a floor at Jefferson that gets renal, urology, and transplant patients. We get a lot of patients who are post-liver transplant for a vast variety of reasons. I just started working there as a nurse extern a few weeks ago, and your story made me remember that we have so many liver transplants. Lots of them had HepC or cirrhosis. Anyhow...best of luck to you!!! BIG HUGZ, Lizzie

Nancy, You and Red continue to be in my prayers. Hope you're feeling better soon. As far as "feeling a little sick" goes -- When you stick your hands down the front of your pants and "feel a little dick" then you have something to really be concerned with. Later sweetie. Mark

How about barbequed spare ribs with corn on the cob, baked beans and cole slaw? What time should we show up? Peace be with you and your family, Gator
