| That's a good hack Ree, didn't know you had it in ya. Actually IE is the operating system according to MS, and it can't be removed. I haven't tried with XP so they may be right. on Oct 13th, 2004, 7:57am, Ree wrote: I love the new version of Netscape and my computer is flying... | Welcome to the wonderful world of Mozilla and open source software. on Oct 13th, 2004, 7:57am, Ree wrote: I HAVE A ? 4 U (as breezy would say) If that ie.explore was screwing with my IE and I got rid of the IE is the theat of that virus now gone.??? Thanks in advance for any help... |
| That's a good lead in. Dispite popular belief IE also known as iexplore.exe, is not a virus, it's a bug. If your problems stopped when you stopped using IE then it is probably spyware imbedded in you browser, and everytime you use windows explorer it will be there. Go HERE and get spybot to hopefully remove it. Opus/Paul PS Grant, waiting for the flame, I need anouther good laugh

Congratulations, Ree. You might also check around for the SkyPilot Classic theme for Netscape. It's a very attractive theme, and yeah, Spybot Search & Destroy is a great piece of software. Good luck!

I'm not very computer-savvy either, Ree. I've had the same problem before, where I've upgraded or removed something from XP Pro and then couldn't access Windows Explorer. Grrrr... *mutter mutter...Microshaft.. Bill Gates... mutter mutter...* Here's a link to Sky Pilot: http://themes.mozdev.org/themes/skypilot.html

| Some programs that install spyware require that spyware to remain in tact in order for the host program to still function. This is usually the case with "free" software. It's their way of making money. Not all free software programs contain or install spyware, but many do. Chris

Mark, Don't you know that I see every piece of software that you use in My Computer. Open source software is a virus that will destroy the world of computing. I can make my office software crash and delete files at any time. Your computer is owned by me. Jeep, you are on my watch list too. Yours truly, Bill Gates PS Opus/Paul, it's not a bug, it's a feature!

Hello, Mr. Gates. You are so right. Thank you for saving me from making such a horrible mistake! As a gesture of goodwill, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to go offroading with me to a rather remote area with lots of rocks and high cliffs. I'm sure you will find it quite enjoyable. (At least, I know I certainly will!) Hugs & Kisses, -Frankie
