Anti-hunters and 16 year olds.

Went hunting this weekend and harvested two deer. Yesterday afternoon as I was eating lunch at the local restaurant with my son, a woman in the restaurant noticed the two deer in the back of my truck. Now mind you I don't parade them around in my truck. The only thing visible was the feet which at one time was required by law so I suppose I'm still in the habit of doing. Anyway, I was chatting with my son and this woman who was sitting at the table next to us started bitching to us saying "How can you guys kill defensless animals" and all the usual anti-hunter bullshit that they talk. "Look at me " she says "I don't eat meat and I'm in good health and to keep in shape I go to the gym everyday" Then she says "As a matter of fact, I just came from there"
Then my 16 year old son looks her over and says "Yeah you are in pretty good shape, and I'm sure those brand new leather Nike shoes your wearing are pretty nice to work out in to!" Not another word outta her.
I never laughed so hard in my life. 
She finished her salad, and took her hypicritical ass out to her car and left. Which by the way had leather seats also.
God, I love that kid of mine

Smart boy you've got there. Nothing wrong with hunting as long as you're doing it to fill your freezer and feed your family. Besides, the herds have to be thinned or they'd starve to death. My Dad owned a hunt camp and every year, we had venison and moose meat to get us through the winter.
Gotta say though I hated coming home from school and finding the Bambis hanging head down in the garage waiting for my Dad to get his butchering equipment ready.

Former ch sufferer (28 yrs.) , current supporter to my 33 yr old son.

I nearly killed to old lady who took that nice cranberry glass vase before I saw it, once...........she wouldnt have fit in the back of my car, though...

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing the story.
I grew up hunting with my dad; some of the best memories I have from childhood. And I can't wait until our kiddo - due in just over a week now - will be old enough to learn all about it.
I wish I could have seen that lady's face... Priceless, I'm sure.

Great story. I get so fed up with bleeding hearts about animal rights. We EAT animals down here in the south. I've got deer, wild hogs and a few other assorted "wild" things as well as beef, port and chicken in my freezer now. I guess next we'll have egg rights and people will tell me we are killing unborn chickens! Geezzz!

Bow season open here but i ain't touched that thing in so long , waiting for gun season, haven't hunted in 4 or 5 years but I need the solitude, see the sun rise, listen to the birds. Don't think the "anti's" understand that.

Hunting and fishing are a way of life for alot of "red necks" like me as a matter of fact I'm going hunting this month right in my own back yard!! Damn I can taste the deer steak now!! he said "We were made to eat meat - teeth are for eating meat. Dinosaurs with teeth ate meat - dinosaurs without teeth ate plants."
So - I immediately started being a vegetarian - LMAO! (never trust a teacher - was my thinkin)
That lasted about a day or two maybe.

We (humans) have grinding teeth like herbivorous animals and longer intestines than carnivorous animals... BUT...our stomach's produce hydrochloric acid, something not found in herbivores, and the hydrochloric acid activates protein-splitting enzymes. I am one of those hard core vegetarians that DOES NOT give a shit what anyone else does. My daughter likes chicken, my wife prefers steak, my friends drag my ass to Outback.
I wear leather footwear and leather belts. And carry spiders outside when I find them.
Being a vegetarian now is far easier than it was 13 years ago. Fake chicken, burgers, sausage, and pepperoni have all been perfected. Still waiting on steak & seafood.
