This is a headache story, not even vaguely related to CH! As promised here is the saga of the sex crazed Catahoula Cur Dog. Take one cur dog that won't stay in a fence. Mix the smell of a lady dog in the night air. And! A bit over six weeks ago I found the yard dog in the back yard, couldn't get up, both legs swollen. The Vet got there that afternoon ( I was not going to pick up an injured cur dog and get my little ass eaten up). His first opinon was congestive heart failure, or kidney failure. My thought was put the poor dog to sleep and end his suffering. However! this is the wifes and daughters dog, so as my wife stood tearfullly by I asked her what they wanted to do. (First Mistake). She tearfully replied "you decide", knew i was up the creek without a paddle then. Sooooo, me and the vet carefully load the dog up to send him for blood tests to see if it was heart or kidney. Damn, it wasn't, next day x-rays showed both front legs broken. So, we splint both legs, need to keep them dry and clean. I build a nice pen on the back porch with cattle panels and welded wire, Yup, that takes him 2 hours to break out of. I fix the wire, add 2x4's, next morning he has eaten 2 feet of 2x4 and wire and is out again. Dumbass goes and buys a 7 1/2x 13 foot kennel, damn that worked one night. 3 am the next night the wife comes screaming into the bed room "he's torn up the kennel, hung up and bleeding every where". Needless to say i was not a nice person, but got him out, patched him up. After that I left the door to the kennel open, he goes and comes as he pleases. lucky it hasn't rained untill yeaterday.Still have 2 more weeks of this. The damn cur dog is loving it. Want a good dog, I will deliver! One question, how the hell did he get home with 2 broken legs? One observation: Women ! nuff said

LR I used to write a column for the paper (Ask Aunt Blabby), so I'll take up my pen (computer as you will) and give you some Aunt Blabby advice -- My dear - Make friends with the damn dog! You're stuck with him. He has "outsmarted" you and WON! When his legs get well, take him on a trip to the vet and have him neutered - that'll be YOUR revenge (the only one you'll get). Some day he'll be your best friend. Hugs BD

| Ditto. On top of that, neutering can turn him into a real pita in that you'll be tripping over. Don't let that fool you. He will probably follow you around looking for his chance to do the same to you. Charlie

Don't do anything drastic. Chances are, he'd be pretty tasty with the right marinade and the right side dishes.
