Ree..... Check this link. http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.galil.c@mm.h tml If you're not a true computer geek, have a geek that you know help you out with this one. It has removal instructions that include doing some tweaks in the registry. Not a safe place to play if your not very careful. Let me know if you need more help with this. Pat

I can help Ree, but you may need to throw the windows out, not the computer. If you just want to browse the web we can send you something simple to use and for right now, no virus attacks. Opus/Paul

Ree, I feel the same way, Norton isn't cuttin the mustard. I had issues recently too and gave my puter to a geek downtown to fix. My puter wouldn't even start Windows, it just froze. $90.00 later and its back 100% Sean.....................

If you have a decent internet connection, you should keep your anti-virus software set to do aotumatic live update. This is how I keep my system at home configured. It's never been infected. If you don't have a good connection speed, you should at least make sure to do an update every couple of days. You should also keep 'File System Real Time Protection' turned on at all times. Your anti-virus software is only as good as the last time you updated your virus definition files. If you updated yesterday and someone writes a new virus today, your system is vulnerable to it. In addition to this, even with anti-virus software, you still need to be careful about where you go, what you click on and what you are doing. Almost every system I have ever cleaned up for viruses was infected by the user opening an attachment in an email. A lot of these emails were from unkown senders. Something else: Who uses Outlook Express??? If you use the preview panel in your email, you don't even have to open an attachment to get infected. Scripts can run in the preview panel. Disable it.

Maybe you should give this a try. It takes a week or so to get used to, but I think you will be happier for it. http://knoppix.com It just seems with all the problems you've had, that it is worth a test drive. TTFN
