Glad you guys are all OK! I know there are millions still without power in Fla. Hopefully, it won't be too long. Thankfully, there are no more storms brewing out there now that I know of, although hurricane season is still far from over. Last year it was the wild fires; this year, the hurricanes. Florida has really been traumatized! I'm beginning to think there's a mass exodus afoot out of that state. I know I have several new neighbors from Fla that have moved up to Ga. My wife has her mother's condo in Ft. Lauderdale on the market (she has Alzheimer's and is living with us). A week after she listed it, all these storms started hitting. She just dropped the price again (under $30,000). It's a distress property about to go into forclosure. Anyway, rambling on here. Glad everyone made it through. Here's hoping Florida catches some much needed breaks! ...........................alley

Glad to hear that you and yours are okay, Bob. The damage looks so terrible down there, through Alabama, and through the Carolinas... Sad... Here in southern middle TN, we had some high winds and heavy rain, and a couple of my neighbors lost trees, but that's about all we really got. Anyway, I hope you are having some pain-free time, and glad to hear that you are safe. -Frank

Kip, Great to hear you guys and the house made it through. Experiencing the full force of a major hurricane has got to be one of the most humbling experiences that a human can go through. I've been through plenty and they always suck. I've got some advice if you don't mind. The house may seem to have made it through unscathed but it may be worth having an insurance appraiser take a look at the house, especially the roof, the rafters and the connection to the house. If you were hit with 100 + winds then things got shaken up for sure. You should be able to find an independent surveyor that will work on a percentage of the claim and can negotiate with the insurance co. It would be unfortunate to have things fall apart in the future due to damage you received this year.
