I was visiting the Green Lawn cemetery in Columbus, Ohio this weekend. It is the site of several reportedly 'haunted' mausoleums. One of them is the Hayden mausoleum, where the family of industrialist Peter Hayden is interred. The picture below is the outside of the mausoleum, the size of it is not easy to capture in a picture but when you know that I am 6'4 and my head only reaches halfway up the iron doors you realize how large it is for a personal family mausoleum. I raised my arms up and over the board obstructing the view into the grave and took the pictures below, you can see what is left of a beautiful religious mural and the stained glass windows on the walls and dome ceiling. The crypts are in a circular pattern around the building. I don't know why it is haunted and I did not see anything out of the ordinary, but i did a very creepy feeling which is unusual for me. Ceiling... cool huh?

Another mausoleum that is reportedly haunted, the Gay mausoleum. It is as small as it looks. Halloween is just around the corner folks. My favorite time of year.

Ok, kids........... Come up. You guys will be right at home in Lily Dale, NY which is probably less than 20 miles from here. There you can visit all your dead relatives and just about anybody you care to interrupt in the hereafter. Of course they like you to pay for all this. You can buy all kinds of souvenirs, books, food, and listen to spiritualists. They come from all over the world every summer. It's as close to the other side as one can get. Sort of a Poltergeist playground too. There is even a little graveyard pathway, if I remember. Such fun. Charlie oooooh

Wow that is neat! When we were younger, my brother and I were walking around a very old cemetery in Connecticut. There were two masuoleums that really scared us!! One of them had this blue light shining from the inside...eeeerie!! The other one...get this....you step up to the window to look inside and it had a mirror in the back of it so you saw your reflection inside the mausoleum!!!! How creative is that?? I don't know if they meant it that way, but that's kinda like a sneaky little trick to leave behind from the afterlife!! Those people are probably watching everyone and laughing their asses off about all the scared people!! hehe I love going to cemeteries...especially old ones. My former microbiology teacher was like that too...he used to show us pictures of cemeteries up in Salem, MA.

LOL, Charlie! That thing in the middle DOES look like a commode, now that you mention it. Hey, maybe even ghosts have to "drop the kids off at the pool" every now and then...
