With everything else thats been going on...I get ready to drive to work this morning and all of a sudden the brake peddle hits the floor board. I have a puddle of brake fluid right under the driver side door. They were fine yesterday when I ran errands. This morning...nothing... WTF????

Bad CARma? Sounds like you had a brake line come loose. It shouldn't be all that expensive to fix. Good luck!

It's a blessing that it didn't happen at 70MPH, what Kind of car so I am sure I never own one. I have a volvo wagon and I love the complete dual brake system, two lines run to everywhere. Opus/Paul

It's a rusted out, POS Olds. Older than dirt. I'm just wondering how the hell I'm going to get the thing to the shop without brakes.

What Jeep said. You will be getting that one towed or fixed in your driveway. Strange though... brake lines are kinda bulletproof (based on my limited knowledge). Piss anyone off lately?

I had a similar experience with my exhaust system last Friday. I stop for coffee and everything is fine. When I leave, I pull out into traffic and have to punch it kind of hard to get out. Suddenly, my car sounds like a Sherman tank and I hear something dragging. I stop to look and the flange holding the exhaust pipe to the manifold has come loose and is dragging. Anyone who knows what I'm talking about here will know that I know have my entire exhaust system dragging for the last 8 miles of my drive to work. Not only is it dragging but it's beeing pushed forward. I turn my hazard lights and make the rest of the trip at about 10 MPH so I won't break anything else. Drop it off at an exhaust place accroos from the Library where I work. Luck was on my side with this one. I've been there before and they remembered me. No more damage done because I was carefull. Repair bill.......... $87.00

That is so weird, My brake line on my old ford festive just rusted out and broke last tues. Cost me 111.00 to fix it. I was on the back roads around town, thankfully I was only doing about 30 when somebody pulled out in front of my and I had no brakes .

If this is about 'Carma'... then the perps will be taken down... someday, somehow. Let's just hope it was the rust and it doesn't cost too much. got AAA? Best $65 I ever spent with an old car. Good luck Pegg

Probably not just a brake line, all cars made since the mid 60's have a dual master cylinder. If say a front brake line fails, you'd still have rear brakes. More than likely the master cylinder failed in a big way.....or a combo of master cylinder and brake line failure. Good luck Pegg........ Bill
