A little puzzler for the comspiracy theorists out there. This is an external picture of the a Russian Buran Shuttle. Appears to be the OK-GLI. Last known whereabouts. Sydney Australia. This picture was taken in the Bahrain Desert. This one is of the interior as it is now. OK how did it get there and why can just any ol fool with a digital camera just walk up and take pictures, climb around on and in it. Then post them on the web? WTF over.

Looks like all the instruments are totally gutted and it was just put out for trash. Was there a "best offer" sign on it. Kevin M

I have a Buran tile. There are actually a fleet of russian shuttles around... many full-scale mock-ups, and 5 space-ready orbiters in various states of completion. Buran was complete, but without life support, and #1.02 was 95% complete. One went to Australia for the Olympics. Another is a ride in Gorky Park. The original that flew in 1987 (unmanned, 2 orbits) was trashed pretty badly during reentry (massive thermal damage... written off as a loss). It was destroyed in 2002 when the roof of the cosmodrome collapsed on it.

There are some mock ups floating around. But there were only four built. This one is the Buran OK - GLI Atmosperic tester that was sent to Sydney for the Olympics. Yemen took delivery of 10 Scud 2 missile from N. Korea awhile back. I'm thinking the goat herders are in a space race with themselves. Like an all night diner I'm open to suggestions though. A really good, wacky conspiracy theory would be good.

| Kazakhstan has the only space-ready one remaining in one piece. Say 'hmmmmm'.

| It's the secret base where the Israeli and commandos and Noam Chomsky trained the real WTC bombers in order to blame radical Muslims. All financed by the Bildebergers of course. Charlie

I would be wondering why they mounted the cannon on the nose. The other Soviet shuttles lacked nose cannons. /would start worrying if the thing had a gas gauge
