One of those days

I know several of you are chronic or else like me and still in the first cycle, but it hasn't been a year.  I was wondering how many of you who don't have cycles in the episodic fashion get a sort of cycle within a cluster?  This has probably been brought up before, but I don't have the energy to do a search right now.  Last fall, I was getting about 6 a day or so, and then in January it went down to 2 a day.  Every once in awhile I even have a short period with none or one or just shadows...that is usually the first few days of a prednisone taper.  And then the heavy periods come back.

Now is one of those times again.  5 yesterday and 2 so far today.  Plus it throws the migraine all out of whack.  Not to sound all whiney (I hate that...) but today I am home from classes because I'm worn out from not sleeping and the constant pain is pretty high.  I am just resting between hits, it seems.

Days like this...it gets really frustrating..

Oh. Lizzie, Sorry your not having a good day..

Infinities of PF vibes and hugs for you.

My HA's, including migraines, sort of cycle within themselves which is why it's hard to ID any kind of official "clustering" or cycles and why I'm always on verapamil.

And you don't sound whiney....this is why we're here.

Take care,

Undecided Cry I am so sorry, Carrie... Please hang in there. I think Annette once mentioned that Dave was having high and low cycles, even though he's chronic.

Get whatever rest you can, my friend. I hope you get a break pretty soon. Be good to yourself. hug

I can't speak for any chronics, but most that I know, do go through periods that are tougher than others.....

Thanks all,

I start my new job orientation at 7:45am tomorrow and Sunday, so I guess I am a little worried about doing this on no sleep and a lot of attacks.  12 days in a row of work or school without a day off is a little overwhelming to me.  But I'll be glad to get a little cash in my pocket...more money for Amerge.   Tongue

Naw seriously...thanks a lot.  I just feel overwhelmed today and the pain is just getting me down.

You guys are the best...

It doesn't sound nice today CarrieBeth, typical day in cluster cycle, but I get a break between hits, not that constant pain and migraines too.

Feeling better vibes coming hun, wash'em down with a Flintstone chewable.    Smiley

Big hugs.

Lizzie,
Yes chronics have cycles, I can go from a month of 4 hits a day to a month of 1 hit every 2 days with no meds. I am fortunate because my chronic cycle even at it's worse is much lighter than my episodic cycle. I hope and pray that you get hit less everyday. You are doing very well. I would have given up long ago. Give your self a pat on the back and a big hug.

Thanks Paul,

The day got better...I go to a psychiatry resident on Fridays (only have gone 4 times now) and he is incredibly helpful.  Sometimes it helps me just to get out the thoughts I have and he is very objective about it.  Sometimes he will ask me to explain a phrase or something that I said that I just sort of glossed over.  He's nice, and since he is a resident...he just went through med school not all that long ago.  He still remembers what it is like to be a student in health care and all the craziness that goes with it!  I think that helps a lot.

Anyhow, after awhile I realized that the new med I am taking as a migraine preventative was making my tachycardia come back and also making me very nauseous.  That wasn't helping much!  My heart rate was above 100 again, and that just didn't feel good at all.  The med side effect has worn off now since I took the med this morning, but I'll have to see if my body adjusts to it and if it is even worth taking at all, or if I should go off it.  It will depend on if it helps!

Thanks again for the support. Smiley  Sometimes I need reminders that it is going ok because I start to lose it once in awhile!  Hopefully my first weekend of work will go well!!!  Smiley
