Can things get much worse? (updated again)

The first two calls received in my home morning brought bad and even worse news to me. Somedays I feel like things can't get much worse...and then they do.... First call of the day... my 4 year old daughter answered the phone (despite the fact I have told her not to...of course she disregards everything I tell her...she is 4, after all) and guess who it was...the EX. So then I had to listen to her scream and cry for the better part of an hour because I am a "Mean mama and won't let her talk to her Daddy". Nuff said. The second call was the worst news. My Dad had a stroke last night. We do not know the extent of the damage caused by the stroke, as of yet as his wife JUST TOOK HIM to the emergency room this morning (YES, in case you were wondering she IS a total TWIT) ater describing his symptoms to someone at her church. In the last 18 months my Dad has had bypass surgery, has had both legs amputated, two fingers amputated, has progressed from peritoneal dialisys, to hemodialisys and now will probably lose sight in his remaining "good eye" due to the stroke and diabetic neuropathy. Now this...I don't dare ask what next....I am heartbroken. My plate is now full....I just wish whoever keeps heaping more stuff on it would JUST QUIT. I have been sick for weeks with an upper respiratory infection that antibiotics are not helping and my kids are now over THIER colds and are driving me crazy . I am still getting hit on an average of three times a day and have just increased my Verap on my own as I cannot afford to go see the doctor. I haven't received a full paycheck from my boss in over a month and life, in general, really sucks right now. My family (Mom, included) have been of no help and won't even come over and take the kids for a day so I can rest. My boss has insisted on me coming to work every day as "She used to get up and go to work with a 104 degree fever no matter what" (Yeah, and I bet she walked to school in the snow everyday, 15 miles each way,, Uphill, both ways). That's ok though...I sneezed on her keyboard. Repeatedly. The only thing keeping me from "going over the edge" is the fact that my kids need me and the support I get from my clusterbuds. Is it ok to just say enough is enough? I need a break, some vibes or something to make me smile...because life sure isn't dishing out anything like that to me right at the moment. Thanks for letting me vent. DD

Donna, take it from me. Don't threaten the god's of disaster. Just let go and Let God. Sometimes it's what ya gotta do. Life deals us punches every day that hopefully we can deal with. When we can't ....... it's time to let go and let God. I hope you can do that, but in the meantime, I'll be sending some prayers your way.

Donna, Get your Dad sorted out to the point you know he's stable, then call your boss and tell her you'll be working from an away location for a few days, then load the kids in the vehicle, (I'll send ya gas money) and get yer ass back up here to your old stomping grounds. Papillion and LaVista have changed ALOT but I'd bet you'd enjoy the break and the time to see the old neighborhood. You've got my number, use it. Cat
