CH.com is gone! Is this next?
DJ has closed the board before when it got too out
of control.
I think WE ALL need to take a hard look at why we are
here and what we are doing.We can not control what
others post but we CAN control ouselves! I know how
much this place means to me.I would sure hate to lose
it. If you think this can not happen,your wrong!
In my opinion DJ has shown super-human patience and
tolerance.Please remember he is human and does have
his limits too.
Think about it folks.

As much as I've enjoyed myself the past day and half, you are absolutely correct. I don't want to take it so far that the board gets taken away from you guys.

You know, I was looking for a post by DJ, that talks about this very thing.
Basically he said, that this message board survives because of the people who post here. We can either make it thrive, or we can destroy it. It is up to us.
I wish people who did not find this place until after this new MB was started, would take some time to look into the archives of the old message board, to see how people used to post to get a feel of how wonderful it CAN be. I also think, that as each year passes, and there are more and more people here, it becomes more out of control due to the hundreds of different personalities and no policing of what can or cannot be said. DJ gave everyone a gift here of free speech that sometimes gets taken for granted. Think I'm blowing it out of proportion? Just check other MB's on the net that deal with medical conditions...
Dammit DJ, I wish I could find that post you made, but trying to search for it using your name is next to impossible. 
Anyhow, since I'm already in the archives, I think I'll go read some more.... they bring back wonderful memories for me.

I've read this board (and the old one) pretty much inside out since 2001. It has always had its ups and downs. Good folks who bled personally for all of us to be here today are long gone.... Good folks continue to come here. I hope each and every one of them feel what you and i felt when we peaked in the window and saw our reflections. It began with and continues to be a wondrous place for folks with cluster headaches who most often have spent a Long Time All Alone. ...........ya know just because we all have that ch thing to connect to -- it does not exclude that human condition that we all possess -- and it means that we shall have all of what comes along with that connection -- laughter, sharing, kindness, ...............and personality so if ya caint stand the heat - then GTFO 
I think the authors of this website had great integrity to understand what would come after the celebration. I think they are much more worthy than given credit for. I think it's arrogant for anyone to assume that a small portion of crap will wipe them out. It is the small portion that will suffer - not ch.com

I think if folks would go back and read back in 1998 when the board first started and when a few people started coming on it and then a few more and how things were handled you might get the idea of how supportive this site can really be. Of course it was only updated when DJ got around to it and had the time so we all waited and checked in regularly. Not like instant today.
But it HAS saved a lot of lives (mine included) and I've been around longer than most of you (except Bob G). And I was around the night OUCH was dreamed up and that was months and months before the group met in the garage in NY. In fact it was before a few of that group ever came on the board. If you read the archives you'd know that.
DJ said one time that he started this website cause HE wanted some support. Back in the old days he posted regularly and we all got his opinion on everything. Now he stands back and doesn't say anything. I miss the old DJ who could have an opinion without worry of anyone taking it the wrong way and getting their panties in a wad. Oh well, I guess that's progress.
But what BJ said -- we'd better take care of what we've got. You know about what happens when the well runs dry -- we might miss the water...

Well Mel, you know I love ya so this is nothing against you. However I've seen many times people say things like this before. It only makes people who came in more recently feel as if they don't belong and that they are a bad asset to the new group. I don't just mean stuff on the internet. There are a lot of times where people use the phrase, "You haven't been at this as long as I have so you don't know what it was like back then." Well that's right. I wasn't here then, but I have read through much of the archives on the old and new board...though not as much as I would like.
Maybe there was less fighting or whatever back then, but this place has still been a wonderful source of support. It hasn't been all fighting and all bad. I know there are a lot of fights going on right now, but let's not forget the good. Good is all over this place. People care about each other and do more for each other than I've ever seen in most other places in life!
I do think the fighting should stop because it isn't helping anyone and just making people upset. However, I don't think we should feel that fighting is all we are doing. I think a good bunch of us are still around here to support and laugh and share good times and bad with each other. I know that I will continue to support each and every person here.
Hopefully the fighting will stop soon and people can make some peace. But I think our spirit can outlive the fighting and continue to grow. We're all too stubborn to give up on the wonderful thing we have here.
Thanks again, DJ for all that you have done. Can't ever thank you enough.

I have never EVER said anything to the effect that I "have been here longer than whoever". NEVER. So there should be no reason why someone who hasn't been here that long should feel like they are "not wanted" at ch.com. Also, you just said you read through much of the archvies, so then you obviously should not of taken what I said personally, because it wouldn't pertain to you.
You say that you have seen many people say what I have said. Do you ever wonder why? Perhaps the reason why I wrote it, was to try and get the board back to somewhat of a balance. In the past, I'd usually go away for awhile to let things blow over, but this has got to be the first time I'm sticking around and voicing my opinion. Lord only knows why, but I am. I guess I'm still in that needing and wanting to help "mode".
I know you love me dear, and I loves ya to, but there is usually a reason behind my blathering .

That isnt what Mel meant. Regardless of how it makes you feel to hear it. The board was much better before. There was more supporting and love and less personalities. Of course things would change when there were 5000 plus members.....Back in those days arguments were usually about medications and about imposters trying to infultrate our board. We all stuck up for each other and there weren't any clicks... I still thank God everyday that the board is here but I wonder what I will do without the chat, and Elaine....... she has been very sick and it seems there are only a few people that are even acknowledging that...... It killed her to close down HSG... but it was made a mockery, and she was made to feel useless during a very vulnerable time..... I am very sad and let down about all of this ree

And yes, I worry a lot about Elaine and her health. I passed along a message for her through Jonny.

CH.com has survived because we all have built it together. simple analogy, but each of us are the bricks that build the walls of our home of clusterville. No 2 bricks are the same but they are equally strong. If we want to see it all fold in on itself then you are the one making that choice. I can honestly say that if not for this site, I am not sure that I would have been strong enough to have gotten throught the past year that my life has been turned upsiddown for no appearant meaning. Just a random "luck" of the draw that my CH started.
Basically people if you want Clusterville to remain here, then you better damn well work for it. Opinions are always welcome but the personal attacks need to stop. They are a joke and only cause hurt feelings.
PS - DJ I too just wanted to say thank you for providing me a place to lean and gain support, and friends that in some respects are closer to me then my own family.
