I used to live about 2 miles from that bridge. I spent 2.5 hrs stuck on it trying to evacuate hurricane opal.

They're saying there is possibly considerable damage on the 3 mile bridge in PCola as well. If so, that is going to separate about 1/2 of the population in that area.
Meaning if you live in Gulf Breeze and work in Pensacloa (like my Dad does), what would've taken 10-30 minutes travel will now take about 3-4 hrs. Shocked

Gettin' nailed with the shit here in Tennessee, now. Rain and gusty wind, so far. The trees are being tossed around like crazy out there and the power keeps fading and then coming back... Gnarley night, here... (Keeping a wary eye on the weather)

It's raining steady here in Western North Carolina, but nothing bad.  It's staying west of me, with Frank, and Jayne.

Wow Frank, that must be nerved-racking, good luck..

Between Frances and Charley I have actually developed a storm-phobia,  the plain thunderstorm we are having here where I live tonight is making me feel a little nervous.   not very nervous, but nervous for me.  I will be glad when hurricane season is over, get a breather.  I feel like a damn bowling pin  Grin

Not sure we'll get any of it now up here. But am also hopein we don't get them FREAK super cell storms we've gotten the past two November's with killer tornados that went on both sides of us. In this valley we can't see one comein and the dam satillite goes out as soon as it rains. No place to run Pam
