Im not going to bother buying toys for emma (7 months old). Her toys cost a fortune and they are all educational things (apparently). She has now been playing with a remote control, egg whisk and a saucepan for the past 2 hours!!! its her first christmas this year - going to get her a big box filled with wrapping paper i think!!!

The best Christmas gift for a baby that age is the boxes that everybody elses gifts came in. You'd be surprised how creative a baby of even 7 months can be with this kind of stuff.

I found that ANYTHING can make a good gun for a little boy. Even a piece of toast with a bite taken out of it... That goes for dog toys as well. I get a lot of mileage out of empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls....

She's got a thing about kitchen utensils at the moment - must be because she is female Apparently my auntie has already bought her a drumset for christmas - we are going to sell it before emma is old enough to use (wont do wonders for marc's head)! She is currently tugging on the string that hangs from my cushions on the table chairs!

Hadnt thought of it like that! She probably wouldnt like the drum set anyway - nowhere near as good as the saucepan and wooden spoon! Finally learnt how to post a picture: here is a picture of the two things closest to my heart - marc and emma:

hi, I think you need a bit more refining in the "pic posting techniques" i had to try a couple of times too. And... You're absolutely right, they play with anything BUT toys. Ronny.

Sarah The pictures are showing to you probably because they are stored on your computer, luckily for you we don't have access to that! Wendy

If i put them on my website - would it work then you think? HELP!!!!! luv sarah! Wendy - there is nothing interesting on this thing anyway, just a load of downloaded games and photos of emma!

Yep. It semed my 3 boys had more fun with the boxes than the toys when they were little. All the money I wasted. LOL As for a baby that young, instead of trying to turn her into alberta einstein, get things that catch the eye and spark imagination. "Accidental learning" is the most fun. Brightly colored balls, toys that make noise or music and stuffed animals and such. Take her through the toy department and watch what catches her eye. My daughter-in-law really wanted to get a "Care Bear" for my grand daughter, but when she held up a Care Bear and a "Winnie the Pooh" Sahara went for Pooh. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for and even at that young age will "tell" you what they like if you let them. Oh, and Sahara loves banging on a big metal bowl with a spoon, too. I wonder who taught her that? Gator

I have two grandsons, Zachery 5 and Dakota 2. Last Christmas I asked Zachery what he wanted for from Santa. He said "I want a Teletubbie video". I said "Teletubbie? You don't watch those anymore". He said "I know . But Dakota likes them". Just gotta love the innocence of the children.

Now if I can just keep the golf balls from ending up the TV Ill have won that war. LMAO He loves books to EAT!! Forget the pictures or the colors! LOL This year for X-mas he is gettin boxes all painted up! They grow up soooooooo darn fast! Enjoy them while they are little. Oh and matchbox cars are MUST for kids!! Mykee loves his trucks and cars!! Leesa

| Boxes would be fine with me. It wouldn't bother me if there were also expensive guitars in the boxes. Preferably Gibson and Taylor.
