First visit. Young guy.
Had to dispel a couple of myths about CH for him but he was open and interested. He was CH educated in the sense that he is aware of the devastation they cause.
Wanted the OUCH website address. He even offered to fill in any imitrex gaps if I needed him to.
Given some time I think he can learn something more. 
Looks like there is an OUCH coffee mug in his future.

THAT is awesome, Don!! My own GP has become something of a cluster headache expert too. Through treating me, she has been open to learning more about CH, medications, etc. She's been wonderfully compassionate, helpful, and kind. So much better than the neurologist I was seeing. (The one whose face I wanted to ram into a meat grinder....)

This guy was interested inthe verapamil as a preventative. I have low blood pressure to begin with so he was curious about the effect.
He thought 480 mg a day was a high dose. Nearly fell over when I told him that many need over 900 mg a day.
Got em right where I want em! LMAO

Our GP that also treats Brad is also a younger guy.....was nervous as heck goin to meet him when our other 'younger' new doc decided to move his practice out of state back home to Michigan. Wasn't sure WHAT we were goin to get ourselves into with this new guy. But....he also seemd' to be somewhat CH savoy......knew some of the meds pretty well and tricks of the trade to get insurence to over most stuff. He's willing to work with us and whatever we suggest he will agree with within reason of course. He gets Brad in quickly and hassles over rough times with our insurence co 'best he can' for us. So....there is hope ! Do you know where yer hurricane is Pam (it's here)

Hopes of better diagnosis and treatment have become reality in leaps and bounds over the last few years.
Heres the new upcoming problem.
Ch being diagnosed when it is not CH.
Twist of fate.

Yer rite there. My step mom was diagnosed withch I found out at the convention.....I bout fell over when she told me that while visiting her and my dad. It was unreal !! So when we got home I sent her the cluster quiz and some other info off this site......she emailed me back that she did not suffer from most of the extreme symtoms and didn't see how it could be ch then. She has that auroa or whatever of light before a ha.....and pain in her eyes.......doc had given her imitrex. She said she has had alot of pressure in her eye for a while now and has had tests. She didn't follow the cycle pattern at all she said. So.....'rite there' is a case of a doc misdiagnoseing ch "lately". She does have alot of similar things tho.....her and Brad talked about alot of that.....but it just can't be ch.......I mentiond CPH or whatever......duh......sorry.....couldn't remember the correct name and symtoms and decided to SHUD UP ! Glad to hear that a GP out there could actually LISTEN! (Could he write legibly too, or did it just look like some arthritic spider had crawled across the page! LOL!)
Since my epilepsy (Temporal Lobe) diagnosis I have seen someyhing like seven GP's. Six of them asked ME what meds I was on and wrote the scrip, before my notes had caught up!
One of them said he would like me to go away and make an appt for the next day. Came back and he had as many neuro books on his desk as he could fit and looked tired!. The man had done his reading!
I am dreading having to have a chat with my current GP about CHs. I'm hoping he will LISTEN. They can be all too concerned with giving you paracetemol and telling you to lie down in a darkened room.

Did you hear me! My theory is that GPs are lazy and couldn't be bothered to specialize!!!
