About to lose power, but not because of Frances. So far, so good- wet more than anything else. Lots of trees down in the neighborhood, luckily none have so far fallen on our house or car. Thanks for asking Jacks............. ...........................................alley edit: Elaine, call if you need anything. I lost your number when I reformatted my hard drive.

Oh Thank The Good Lord, Power has been restored in our house. We woke up about 1 am, no lights so black outside you could not see the cars in the drive way. Wind was wipping allaround. We could hear stuff and knew things outside were being tore up. Not one thing we could do. Buddy and Deveny and the baby all went back to sleep so they could get up and hopefully go to work.. Me with a coleman lantern and a book and dog by my side listing to the trees and wind. Not knowing how bad it was I called my mom who live 50 miles north of me. She turned on her TV and said thousands were out of power, and it looked like Butts County was getting it bad. It was the longest four hours sitting alone not knowing what was happing all around. Finally 5:30 came and I woke Buddy and Deveny. about 6 am we could see outside. It had ripped all the screening off and canopy off the front porch. The big grill we have was laying on the other side of the fence in the drive way. We drove to walmart to get water and ice and a few needed supplys. Trees were just dug out of the ground and laying across the power lines. Not but a couple of house really hurt but the trees and road ways were bad. Triffic lights out everywhere. We were told it could be days before we had power again. So we bought $149 worth of water, coleman latterns, coolers, and ice. Plastic, flashlights anything we could think of to keep the baby from getting sick and get by we bought. We got back home and Buddy left for work. Deveny watched the baby wile I picked up the yard and put lawn funiture in the shed. I fished pulling down the canopy and screen that was left. Never did find where the rest blew to. We packed our chest freezer with ice and meats. We packed coolers with ice and other foods that had to keep cold. Then cleaned the house with doors and windows open to keep cool. All day I spent talking to the Lord. He sending us all a signs, they all are saying. Don't take things for granit, don't get to confortable. It can all go in a matter of minutes. Tonight we sat down to eat tired and dreading another night and day of no water no power, but we were laughing and really enjoyed each other. For almost 24 hours we got back to the basic of life and what its really all about. We cleaned up the kichen after we ate the Kentucky Fried Chicken Dinner Buddy was so good to bring home. We lite candles in the fireplace. Turned on our lanterns. Buddy kind of laughted and said whoes idea was it to move to the country LOL! I told him mine and I still love it here. Then all of a sudden Buddy jumped up from his Chair and very loudy said "Listen" we all stopped and looked at him like he was nuts. "He said the air just came on we have POWER. " Praise to God came from us all. The baby of course ran first thing to get his CD Rom and said bye I am going to play, off he went, Buddy yelled someone turn on the light He just want to see Light. I ran for the sink I just wanted to see water. Deveny hit the coffee pot she just wanted coffee. They say its coming back in again tonight so I am praying NOONE gets hit that it won't be to bad. Nancy I know what ya mean about swimming Jackie thanks for keeping my spirts up today, I Love ya my friend. I love ya all!

| Isn't it amazing Elaine, how adversity brings people closer together! Of course, this site and this disease is a prime example of that. I am so glad to hear that ya'll are all ok! ........................alley ps Please call me Elaine, when you get a chance.

GLAD everyone is ok.....down here in this valley and totally wooded with hills and trees were kinda used to power losses.....but not for days in a row.......was out a few weeks after we first moved here due to an ice storm. We've learn'd liveing out here so long that you have GOT to have a plan !!!! We have vented propane heater in the rec room that does not need electric to run......has been a real life saver in cold weather blackouts. Can heat water on it or cook on it to warm something if we had to. I always have power'd milk and food ready to eat....and lots of lantern's setting around the house ready and some wall oil lamps also up in safe areas to use. I can't bear runnin low on pet food or anything....."jus in case". Guess we are goin to get hit with some HEAVY rain starting tomarrow here......kinda makes me nervous with this big creek rite next to the house. It's always done good and is a run off area so it moves past us fast.......but this rain comeing looks a bit out of the ordinary even for a torrential brief rain. There sayin it is a bad situation on the way !!! I'm kinda skert Pam
