...spend your Labor Day?
Some of my wife's co-workers had never tasted Cajun food before and convinced her to convince me to cook some. I spent about 7 hours in the kitchen making a Cajun feast. I made Jambalaya, Crawfish Pie, File' Gumbo, Shrimp Etouffee' and for dessert, Croquignoles. My feet and back still hurt and talk about a mess!!! I think it will take as long to clean up as it did to cook the meal, but it was goooood, yeah sha.
And yes, I sang that damned song all day long. It is still ringing in my ears...

I went to a Cubs game.
Upper deck, 8th row, right by first base.
Home run fiesta. 5 homes runs for the Cubs. Three of them were 2 run homers.
Cubs won 9-1.

I spent it with a very special person, some one that I care very deeply about. We had a wonderful time, just talking and spending time together, it's amazing how nice it is just to spend quality time with someone that you love.

I had lunch with my big sistah Lindsay. We never get to spend time together anymore, so that was fun! We went to Applebee's. Yeah I know that's not all that exciting, but we had a 10% off coupon with our local high school's football discount card!  Then we went and looked at some bedding choices for my bed here at school. Then I got packed up and my dad brought me back to Philly! LOL It was a pretty nice day.

I spent Saturday trying to not get in the way of my sister and a couple of friends as they put into full swing the Baby Shower for my wife. While the girls held their revelries, I prepared a fancy dinner back on the home front.
Saturday night a friend of mine - my best friend from highschool, in fact - stopped by for the night with his girlfriend as they headed out to MO. I had not seen him in close to 14 years and - here is the cool part - he found me because of my association with CH.com.
The New Mexico State Fair is in full swing and we spent the rest of the weekend eating Fair-food and walking around looking at the exhibits.

First of all YUUUUM! Just LUV me some Cajun food.  Loved it before I ever went down to Louisiana for a visit. Second of all, my daughter and I get a little silly when we hear that Jambalaya song, dancing around and doing our own version of the lyrics cuz we fo' sho'! don't know what the words are, nevermind the title. Well, now I do  .
Shoulda seen my daughter down in New Orleans. You'd never think a little girl from Brooklyn would be dancing up a storm to some of that Klezmer music and Cajun bands we heard down there. She even played that tin thingy you play with spoons at one of the dinner bars. She was 6. I think she's a little musical huh?
You don't wanna hear about my weekend,... I basically drank, danced, ate, drank, drank, shopped, ate. Your basic Labor Day weekend. Thank goodness I didn't have to drive Friday night.  But I stayed outta trouble. Now THAT was unusual.

I spent the weekend drinking Everclear, chainsmoking, mainlining heroin, freebasing coke, and doing speedballs. It was great... When I ran out of heroin, coke, Everclear, and crank, I started huffing paint thinner and flea spray, and then huffed all the nitrous oxide out of the can of Cool Whip.
It felt almost as surreal as quitting smoking and sitting around in my house playing piano and reading books.

I spent my Labor Day getting a car ready for a race that was to be called off due to weather. Such is life.
Saturday, however, I spent driving to Myrtle Beach, SC and spending a beautiful day at the race track.
Thanks to Vig, here I am in the spotters stand, performing my "during the race" duty.

Yep and Ivan is pissed.
My Labor Day- got off work at 8am. Went home and slept through most of it.  Got up, watched the tube a little and went back to work.
