I have been in touch with Justin Ott today, and suggested he do a piece on Dave Emond and the dangers of some of the meds they give us for CH. He said the documentary is far from being done, and could take up to 2 years to finish (let's hope he can pull it off quicker than that.)
Anyway, he has agreed to do a segment on Dave. From what I can tell of the matter, what happened to Dave is a gross negligence of his former Doctor who in my mind, should not be allowed to practice medicine. Justin said he would like to contact Dave, but isn't sure if right now would be a good time to do so. I sent him some links to Daves posts that I hope will help him in doing a segment. I also thanked Justin for giving a voice to so many of us who have suffered in silence for too long.

I wrote Dave and asked if it was okay that Justin do a segment on him. If he doesn't want a segment done, I will let Justin know.
In the meantime, everybody light your candles tonight at 9pmCt, 10pm Est, 7pmPacific. and say a prayer for Dave.

Carl, Dave will probably reply to your message but just so you all know, the Prednisone was NOT prescribed to deal with clusters. It was given to him to try and control the other pain he was in that he could feel over and above clusters. Back last fall when this nightmare first began, Dave was just entering his escalated cycle within chronic, and we were both blown away that he was actually feeling anything over and above his headaches. He has injured, banged up, cut up, bruised and almost broken himself many times before and never even knew it if he was being hit at the same time. You may want to wait for Dave to answer you before you let Justin know this Carl, as it may color his decisions on the documentary.

To clarify that just a bit, these would be on the lower level CH attacks, higher levels were insane! They were like having a CH attack throughout my entire body! It was unbelievable that I could feel any pain during a high level CH attack, and yes … I’ve tried to divert pain with serious methods before. All I could do during these times was roll around on the floor screaming for God to kill me now! During probably my worst episode of whatever this was, body completely flailing out of control and incredible pain, I went into a Kip 10 … that was too much! (That was the time my body couldn’t hang on any more and gave out and I had to be revived.)

Probably not right now, although we should get in contact. If things follow a certain path then there will be something in the works that definitely should be filmed and not just by researchers who might want to keep it to themselves. Best to be prepared ahead of time in case this happens sooner than I hope.
