As some of you already know, one of my dearest friends had an anyeurism while we are in a remote area of Mt Hood, on a car run..That was now 4 weeks ago. Bethy is being released from the hospital this coming week, and has a TON of recuperation left to do, but she is alive. When you consider no cellphones worked in this area, the hand-helds could not reach out to our "base contact"..and the EMT's were 45 mins away, Bethy is one lucky girl, and her friends are grateful to still have her here. We have all learned a bit more about life's priorities.
She is even a bit younger still than Laura Branigan... too young to have life end.
Dont waste a moment! And never forget to open up to the endless opportunities in life...
and love your friends while ya can!
Soapbox back under bed...

My mother died from an anyuerism in 1983. She would faint and get dizzy, I don't think she ever had it checked out. The nuero surgeon at the time told us that if you have one it's likely you're born with it. It keeps growing over time until it bursts. Hers was bigger than a thumb. Nothing could be done for her.
I'm with Cathi, do what you want to do. Have fun as much as possible.
Life is just too short.

My dad has one on his heart....went to se ehim while in Nashville and he told me while there it had not changed and was still small and no big threat....he has regular or annual checkups on it I guess. But.....my step mom told me differently when he wasn't around.......I hear it is HUGE and docs don not suggest he bother with knee surgery he needs.....cuz it would be futile !! Huh ??? The way she explained it he is lucky to go on day to day......huh ???? Still dazed and confused Pam

One of my nursing observation experiences was at the neuroscience hospital here. I saw a neurosurgeon clip an aneurysm in someone's cerebral artery. It is absolutely amazing what they are able to do these days...
The key is catching them. My former neuro did a study on unruptured aneurysm which he presented at a headache conference last summer. One of my best friends did a lot of work on the paper. I helped edit it!! Hehe but my name isn't on it. 
One of the key signs of an aneurysm is a "thunderclap headache." This is why they ask you in the ER if you are having the worst headache of your life and if it came on suddenly. Of course, a CH'er could easily say yes!!! So...always be very attuned to changes in your headaches...don't be caught unawares! This stuff is scary...

A good friend of mines uncle Will had several anyeurisms in his brain and when they went to operate and try to save him, as soon as they opened him up and the vessels were exposed, they all disintegrated and collapsed. He died instantly.
Anyeurisms and tumors are like a ticking bomb waiting to explode. I remember in 1993 thinking that my CH's had graduated into an anyeurism in my right temple and it was about to explode at any given time. When they did another MRI and it came back clear, I was very confused. How could anyone experience this kind of pain without there being an evidence in the brain? I even thought when I shaved my head, maybe you could see a vein bulging out during a CH. The only evidence of it though was the red droopy eye, nasal congestion, and tears that I can only describe as being very thick. The left eye will cry natural, but the tears from the right eye are thick, almost feeling like oil running down my face.
